𝗧𝗲𝘅𝗮𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗺𝗼𝗸𝗲 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 - 𝗠𝗮𝗿. 𝟭𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

The Texas Legislature House of Representatives Public Health Committee held a public hearing on Monday, March 10, 2025. Our surgical smoke evacuation bill, 𝗛𝗕 𝟱𝟭𝟯, sponsored by Representative Ann Johnson, was presented this day with testimonies from J.D. Buchert (President of TCORN and Member of AORN Board of Directors) and Mae De la Rosa (Member of TCORN Executive Board). They both did a superior job defending the necessity for our bill with positive remarks from the committee members. They were not limited on time, so they could expand on their comments and answer questions from legislators. As most bills do on initial presentation, this was left pending committee action. Final results for when this will be scheduled for the whole House should be determined within a week.

Special thanks to everyone who took the time to write comments to the committee. These comments are invaluable!
