4-H Club Highlight....
The Ripley Fireballs 4-H club has been a club for generations! They continue to have great participation and support from their community. The Ripley Fireballs are known for their service work, often with military families and Camp Ripley. 4-H Club Highlight...

The Livestock Legends 4-H Club is a very diverse group of youth who participate in both livestock and general projects. One thing they strive on is the older youth helping the younger ones with questions and understanding how to work with and care for their animals. They also do a lot of community service and outreach which has included Adopt-A-Highway, project Christmas Child, making ornaments with residents as assisted living homes and many more. The club members like to have fun and learn!

4-H Club Highlight...The Darling Thunderbirds 4-H Club has a great base of youth and volunteers that has continued to grow over the years. The club has deep roots in community service work. The club wrote for a grant and received it to fill a community pantry to help those in need. They were creative about being able to stock the pantry with fresh grocery items by finding support from the local grocery store to provide coupons to redeem fresh items. The club is active, learning about all sorts of projects within their group, food and nutrition, rabbits, art, cloverbuds, service work and lots more!

The Lucky Clovers 4-H Club is a small but mighty club. They have donated bags at Christmas time to the Drop in Center and Oasis for people in need along with visiting people at nursing homes and care centers to decorate cookies, sing Christmas songs and the musical kids in our club play for the residents along with reading Christmas stories. Our Sunshine committee and officer shadowing allows the Cloverbuds a chance to be in front at our meetings at a young age.

Happy National 4-H Week! The MC Hoofbeats is the 4-H Horse Project Club for Morrison County. They host open arena weekly in the summer and compete in the annual Dual County Horse Show with Crow Wing County 4-H. The youth add to their equine knowledge by being part of a Knowledge Bowl team - they had 3 teams last year!

This year, one of their youth won a weanling through the “Win a Horse” contest. She will be working through training her horse within the Horse Project, with assignments along the way.

Did you know? You don’t have to own a horse to learn about them - there is a Horseless Horse 4-H Project!

For more information on how to join the MC Hoofbeats 4-H Club or 4-H in general please call the Morrison County Extension Office, 320-632-0161

Thank you to our County Commissioners for their support of Extension and the 4-H Program in Morrison County. We celebrated National 4-H week with a light breakfast and a proclamation! Enjoy a look back at several previous Breakfast with Commissioners photos for National 4-H Week's Throwback Tuesday!

It’s incredible to see the growth of our 4-H youth through the years as they learn, engage and play, discovering their sparks.

Once a 4-H’er, always a 4-H’er.
