🚧 Something New is Coming to Helping Hands 365! 🚧

While shopping at the Tiniest Thrift Store in Town, you may notice a little construction taking place. We're excited to announce that beginning July 1, 2026, we'll be opening a brand-new section called the FREE SHELF!

This special area will be stocked with a variety of items including clothing, dishes, knick-knacks, food, and much more — all available FREE for the taking. We encourage everyone to stop by often, as items will change regularly.

We simply ask that you please be considerate of others while visiting the Free Shelf so that as many community members as possible can benefit.

And remember, every purchase you make in our thrift store helps support Helping Hands 365 and the programs we provide throughout our community. Your support truly makes a difference!

We can't wait for you to check it out! ❤️

Have you ever noticed how your child’s mood can shift the moment yours does? Before you’ve said a single word, they already sense it.

That’s not a coincidence; it’s biology.

Children are constantly reading the nervous systems of the adults around them, and they regulate accordingly. If you’re anxious, rushed, or on edge, your child’s body picks up on that and responds in kind. If you’re calm and grounded, even in the middle of a hard moment, that steadiness becomes something they can lean on.

This is why your own nervous system regulation isn’t a “nice to have” or something that comes after the real parenting work.

It IS the parenting work.

Here’s what makes this even more powerful: research on intergenerational patterns shows that the way we respond to stress, conflict, and big emotions is often something we absorbed from our own childhoods, long before we had any say in it. Without realizing it, we can pass those same patterns on to our children.

But the reverse is also true. When you do the work to regulate your own nervous system, when you learn to pause instead of react, to breathe instead of escalate, to stay grounded instead of spiraling, you are quite literally changing what gets passed down.

This isn’t about being calm all the time; nobody is. It’s about recognizing that every time you choose to regulate yourself, even imperfectly, you’re rewriting something for your child before they even have to experience it themselves.

✨ Your nervous system is your parenting tool. When you heal yourself, you change what your child inherits. ✨ 💜
