Aevidum’s goal is to create cultures of “I’ve got your back” in schools and communities across the nation by forming Aevidum organizations. The Aevidum message is delivered creatively through a series of student-generated materials, interactive displays, high-energy assemblies, community events, music, artwork, stories, and PSAs, etc. Aevidum, which started in 2004 after a student died by suicide,

earned SADD’s National Activity of the Year award in 2009, selected from more than 10,000 schools from across the nation. The organization has been recognized by the Pennsylvania Senate, Pennsylvania House, the nation’s top mental health experts, the mental health directors of New York and Ohio, and professors at the Penn State University, Florida State University, and the University of Maryland. In addition to appearing on TV, radio and in newspapers across Pa, Aevidum has appeared on Good Morning America. At the core of Aevidum is an educational philosophy that empowers students to take responsibility to make a difference. Aevidum students are encouraged to use their gifts and talents to succeed and to recognize the gifts and talents of their peers.

Some people carry everyone else's burdens while hiding their own.

This week, check in on the friend who always listens, the teammate who always encourages others, the person who always says, "I'm good."

Support goes both ways.

We've got your back. 💛

Our friends at HopeWorx are looking for feedback as they develop video resources for young people who have experienced suicidal thoughts, behaviors, and/or su***de attempts. They hope to hear from young people ages 14–30 about what types of video resources would be most helpful to them on this topic.

If you're interested in participating, please complete the survey by June 30th at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GLSYFEEDBACK

Light isn't something we keep for ourselves.

Every time we reach out, listen, encourage, or simply show up for someone, we help make the world a little brighter. ☀️💛

Check out these pictures from Minersville Area School District 's awesome Strides Against Stigma satellite walk! In May, the Aevidum Club hosted wellness activities to promote positive mental health during Mental Health Awareness Month. We applaud the club's hard work in putting together such an engaging and impactful event for their school community!

Everyone faces hills.

The people beside us can't pedal for us, but they can encourage us, support us, and remind us that we're not riding alone 🚲💛

"I'm fine" isn't always the end of the conversation.

Sometimes it's an invitation to ask one more question.

Check in. Stay curious. Let people know they don't have to carry everything alone.

We had the best day with these awesome Aevidum students at Lebanon School District, Lebanon PA last week!!

We’re collaborating with Prevent Su***de PA to gather student voice and perspective for some new content for their Online Learning Center.

These brave student leaders shared openly about the views and experiences related to mental health. This content will be used to help educators meet the requirements of Act 71 which requires educators to have 4 hours of su***de prevention education every 5 years. We appreciate the students, advisors, and administrators of Lebanon School District for welcoming us into their school so openly and participating in the project so fully. We especially appreciate Ms. Zentner for coordinating our visit!

We’re still looking for one more school and/or group of students to interview in June. If you or your school are interested, please send us a message for email [email protected]. Stipends are available to support time and travel.
