I haven’t done this in a while.

Myth: Ovarian cancer is always deadly.

Fact: Ovarian cancer is a serious illness, but it's not always deadly. When ovarian cancer is diagnosed and treated early, five-year survival rates are nearly 93 percent. Having a gynecologic oncologist perform the surgery increases survival rates. Combining certain chemotherapy drugs also may improve survival rates and help prevent recurrence, even in women with later stages of the disease.

It’s TEAL Tuesday y’all and there is NO reliable way to screen for ovarian cancer a PAP tests only test for cervical cancer.

If you have any of the symptoms of ovarian cancer, ask your doctor for a rectovaginal pelvic exam, a transvaginal ultrasound, or a CA-125 blood test. ALWAYS ADVOCATE FOR YOU!

Ovarian Cancer Symptoms
-Abdominal bloating or swelling
-Quickly feeling full when eating
-Weight loss
-Discomfort in the pelvic area
-Fatigue
-Back pain
-Changes in bowel habits, such as constipation
-frequent need to urinate

Note many people have no symptoms. Symptoms usually occur in later stages.
