ough there are many soldiers out there fighting every day to improve the lives of others, there has not been a national rallying point behind them. There is power in numbers; however, it’s the numbers that have escaped us since the silencing of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. A significant movement has skipped an entire generation. We have a generation (my generation, Born in 1960) that directly benefitted from advances made by our parents and grandparents during the ’50s and ’60s. I believe in leaving a gaping hole in the social and political consciousness of our children and grandchildren. The Urban Politician’s,” Where’s the Movement Campaign” is to tap into the consciousness of our people and move us to engage and make our voices heard on the issues we’re most passionate about.
