We have been so blessed with donations toward Thanksgiving baskets ... thank you to our generous and kind-hearted community.

WONDERING IF ANYTHING IS STILL NEEDED? WE NEED TURKEYS AND DINNER ROLLS to round out the Thanksgiving baskets.

There's a great deal going on at Hannaford right now ... turkeys for .49/pound! If you are able pick one or two up and donate, what a blessing that would be.

Back to school will be here before you know it! The Food Bank is collecting school supplies for Litchfield students who are in need.

Please drop off school supplies at the Food Bank at 56 Plains Rd on Wed mornings from 10 AM - Noon, or at the Town Office on Mon - Wed from 8 AM - 4 PM or Thurs from 8 AM - 6 PM.

Egg cartons can be dropped off at the Transfer Station, or at the Food Bank across from the Plains Cemetary.

A special thanks to the ladies of the local flocks who have performed very well, and to their owners for sharing their bounty with the Food Bank! We are so pleased to have local eggs to provide to our families.

PLEASE SHARE EMPTY EGG CARTONS WITH THE FOOD BANK so that we can use them for these fresh eggs. Egg cartons can be dropped off at the Transfer Station, or at the Food Bank across from the Plains Cemetary.

Also: PLEASE CONSIDER PLANTING A BIT EXTRA IN YOUR GARDENS TO SHARE WITH OUR NEIGHBORS HERE AT THE FOOD BANK. We have been notified of potential decreases in the amount and variety of foods available through Good Shepherd Food Bank (our primary source) and the USDA due to cuts at the Federal level.

We hope you all are staying warm and dry on this day of wintry weather! Both winter and summer storms bring with them the possibility of power outages. Did you know that in the event of a prolonged power outage, food banks may find themselves having to discard fresh and frozen foods that we distribute to local families?

We are raising funds to purchase and install a standby generator so that we can be prepared for power outages and avoid the loss of perishable foods.

We would be so grateful if you chose to contribute. Donations can be mailed to the address provided below, or dropped off at the Litchfield Town Office.
