A heartfelt and sincere THANK YOU to Family Fare - Litchfield, MN for supplying our brave men and women - firefighters, rescue team, and law enforcement personnel - refreshments last night during the fire in Forest City. Your support to our local departments and surrounding departments that came to our aid is appreciated more than we could ever say. We are proud to serve this community with you.

**I also want to thank the local residents who made sure that our teams stayed hydrated and handed out waters. I apologize for not including it in the original post, I was not aware of that kind gesture from the Forest City community!

A couple of weeks ago, our Litchfield Dive Team did a practice dive at Lake Minnebelle. It was chilly, with water temps around 57* but it was good practice. We had Deputy Sam Swisher from the Meeker County Sheriff's Office join us for shore lookout and safety!

We will be doing more lake dives this year as we practice and test gear. Stay tuned for information and come out to join us!

Saturday 23, 2026 is the last day of EMS Week 2026 - Theme is "Rememberance Day"

The Litchfield Resuce Squad was first started in 1958 as The Civil Defense. In those 68 years, we have had many members be a part of this service. We want to remember their sacrifices in aiding their community in time of need.

We also want to remember their families and thank them for allowing those members time and time again for leaving meal times, special events, family time, etc.. to attend trainings, meetings, medical standby, and go out for rescue calls.

The Litchfield Rescue is proud to carry on the commitment and dedication of our founders to our wonderful community!

On EMS Recognition Day, we honor members of the EMS community who regularly go above and beyond what's expected. It's a day to give gratitude to EMS for their unwavering commitment to serve their communities.

Save-A-Life Day is to promote Stop the Bleed, public CPR/AED/First Aid, and other programs/classes. It doesn't matter how quickly we, with EMS, get to a scene-bystanders (you in the general public) will almost always be there first. We have hopes that Save-A-Life Day empowers you all in the general public to learn and apply steps that can be taken to help save a life.
