June is Men's Mental Health Month.

Men often struggle silently. Many men feel like talking about their emotions makes them seem "weak" or "feminine" according a study done in the American Journal of Men's Health. Unfortunately this can lead to coping through substances or su***de in severe cases. This is particularly the case for males who work in trades (construction, mechanics, etc.), agriculture, or first responders.

While we can't "fix" this, one thing we can all do to help is to talk about it. Normalize emotions, normalize checking in on the men in your life and asking, "how are you really doing?," normalize listening without judgement. A recent study 71% of men would talk about their struggles if someone they trusted asked them.

It's okay not to be okay.
