Dust off your boots! 🤠 One of our favorite moments of the year is partnering with AZ Community Impact and our amazing student clubs for the Senior Citizen Prom and this year’s "A Night in the Old West" was truly spectacular!

The energy was high, the outfits were on point, and the memories were even better. Here’s a roundup of the night:

Everyone looked incredible in their finest western attire, made even better by the hats and bandanas provided to every senior by AZ Community Impact 🎩✨

Huge thanks to Bereisheet 129 for the delicious catering! Our guests feasted on chili dogs, BBQ meatballs, BBQ jackfruit sliders, chicken salad sliders, and a spread of scrumptious desserts. 🌭🍓

Seniors took home gift bags full of personal care treats and posed for shots in our brand-new photo booth a hit for capturing lasting memories! 📸

Our student volunteers kicked it into high gear, keeping the energy up and getting the room spotless in record time. 🧹💨

HUGE THANK YOU to Agua Fria Union High School District for donating the space again this year at Canyon View High School.

Next year is our 5th Annual Senior Prom! 🎂 What theme will we come up with next? You’ll have to wait and see!

Big news for a local leader! 🌟 Our very own Fellow Kiwanian, Ronald Washington, is stepping into a powerful new chapter.

We are incredibly excited to share that Ronald has accepted a new position as Program Coordinator with New Pathways for Youth. This role is a direct reflection of the work he cares deeply about: supporting youth, building resilient relationships, and connecting families to the resources they need to thrive.

For those who know Ronald’s work in the community, you know that "Serving the Children of the World" isn't just a motto for him, it’s a lifestyle. 🕊️

The Kiwanis mission is simple: “To improve the world, one child and one community at a time.” This new position correlates perfectly with that mission and the work of our volunteers at the Kiwanis Club of Litchfield. We believe that when you change a child's life, you change the future. We know Ronald is taking that same heart for service to New Pathways, where he will continue to lead with empathy, action, and real community impact.

And don't worry, Ron the Realtor isn't going anywhere! 🏠 He is still your dedicated Realtor with REAL Broker and a proud Homes for Heroes specialist. Whether he’s finding a family their dream home or mentoring the next generation, Ronald shows up for Arizona.

Please join us in congratulating Ronald Washington on this amazing new role! 🏆👏

We had a great meeting last week. We presented checks to the Agua Fria Food Bank and AZ Community Impact to support them both in their support of the community. In addition we had 2 couples come and join us from about 1,200 miles from the Kiwanis Club Kennewick in Washington State. We are so thankful that they came to visit with us. They stated that they were very impressed on all the activities that our club is involved in, especially the number of Key Clubs that we sponsor. The program on the private automotive maintenance & repair classes was most interesting.

Thank you to Keith and Shannon Elsner with Automotive Learning Lab. We learned a lot about the program and plan to have a club gathering to learn hands on very soon. Thank you for coming and we cannot wait.

Last but not least special thank you Key Club Lieutenant Governor Riley Sugihara from Desert Edge High School. Always a great time to listen to the student service leaders. She did a great job as Lieutenant Governor and kept us involved and informed of what is happening in the District. Thank you Riley!

Our next meeting will be next month on April 20th. Come join us at Rudy’s BBQ in Goodyear, AZ at 6PM. See you soon! 💙

Service this month kicked off with an amazing start on March 10th at the Avondale Resource Center.

Kiwanians joined forces with Millennium High School and Highland Prep West (Surprise) Key Clubs to support the Avondale Volunteers breakfast. We truly value every opportunity to serve alongside our students and mentor the next generation of leaders.

A heartfelt thank you to the Avondale Resource Center for hosting us and providing such a wonderful opportunity to give back to our community! đź’™

Huge congratulations to Agua Fria High School’s Key Club President, Jacob Hodges, for being named this month’s Superintendent’s Academic Superstar last night!

This monthly recognition program highlights students who don’t just reach for academic excellence, but who embody the leadership and character we strive to instill in all our students.

Each month, outstanding students from across the district in Agua Fria, Canyon View, Desert Edge, Goodyear, Millennium, and Verrado are selected for their achievements in prestigious scholarships, high ACT scores, and exceptional grades.

Jacob truly represents the Key Club core values:

- Leadership: Guiding his peers through service and initiative.

- Character Building: Demonstrating integrity both in and out of the classroom.

- Inclusiveness: Ensuring every student feels they belong in our community of excellence.

At the heart of the Kiwanis family is the belief that "Service is Our Way of Life." Jacob’s dedication, resilience, and commitment to learning set a powerful standard for his peers. He proves that being a scholar goes hand-in-hand with being a servant-leader.

We were especially honored to have Kiwanis Club member and our District Governor, Erica Stephens, in attendance to celebrate Jacob's achievement. Having our Kiwanis mentors there highlights the vital bond between our student leaders and the community members who support them.

We are incredibly proud of Jacob for showing us that when we put our hearts into our work, we truly change the world one classroom and one service project at a time.

Great job, Jacob! Keep up the amazing work in academics as well as in leadership.
