Memorial Day marks our Final Match Monday of our Horses for Mental Health Campaign. It will run Monday from noon until Tuesday, May 26 until noon.

Today we want to highlight the great work that Dream Catchers of Williamsburg is providing to Veterans. This is one of the EAS service providers that we supported last year. They are a premier service provider in Virginia.

They offer a program for Veterans called Operation Mount Up that is making an impact in Veterans lives. Through this program Veterans are experiencing greater management of PTSD symptoms, stronger family relationships and connections, and decreased anxiety and depression.

Meet Jackie! She is my why and inspiration behind my lifetime work in equine-assisted services. Through my mother’s battle with cancer, Jackie gave me a safe space to grieve and a shoulder to cry on. She caught more of my tears than any human. She was an amazing therapy horse and my first ever heart horse.
