⚽🎉 TOMORROW IS OPENING DAY! 🎉⚽

The wait is finally over — GCSA’s 28th season kicks off tomorrow, Saturday, August 29th! 💙💛

Opening Day is one of our favorite days of the season, and we’ve got a fun one planned! It’s Picture Day + Scrimmage Day, which means team photos, our first games of the season, and officially kicking off another year of GCSA soccer!

📸 NEW this year: We’ll have a second photo backdrop set up for all those first day of soccer pictures! Bring the whole crew — teammates, friends, siblings, cousins, grandparents… whoever you want! Get those cute first-day pics and make some memories while you’re here. 💙⚽

🍔 Concessions will be available thanks to the A.M. Risher Pool Revitalization Group, so come hungry and help support a great local effort!

And that’s just the beginning! We’ve got some fun things happening throughout Season 28 that we’re excited to bring back and build on:

🌟 PLAYER OF THE WEEK — YEAR 2!
We’re bringing back our Player of the Week recognition program! Each week, coaches will nominate players who have demonstrated hard work, improvement, teamwork, and good sportsmanship, and we’ll select two players to recognize — one from the 5U/7U groups and one from 9U/11U.

And thanks to Casey’s, our Players of the Week will receive a prize packed with goodies! 🎉⚽ We love having a way to celebrate the things that matter just as much as goals and wins.

🏆 END-OF-SEASON TOURNAMENT — BACK AGAIN!
Our 7U, 9U, and 11U teams will once again have an end-of-season tournament! It’s a fun way to give our older players a little extra competition and a memorable way to wrap up their season. The 1st and 2nd place teams in each division will earn medals! 🥇🥈

💙 A MEDAL FOR EVERY 3U & 5U PLAYER!
For our youngest players, the season is about so much more than wins and losses. Every 3U and 5U player will receive an end-of-season medal celebrating all they’ve learned, accomplished, and worked toward throughout the season.

We believe those first seasons on the field are an accomplishment all on their own. There is SO much growth happening when a 3-year-old learns how to be part of a team, follows a coach, kicks their first soccer ball, and finds the courage to get out there — or when a 5-year-old grows and prepares to move into the more competitive older age groups. ⚽🥹

Every season is a milestone. Every player has something to celebrate.

And there may be a few other fun surprises happening along the way… but you’ll have to be there to find out! 👀😉

We can’t wait to see our players, families, coaches, volunteers, and supporters back at the fields TOMORROW. After months of planning, we’re ready to get Season 28 underway!

📢 FALL FUNDRAISER KICKOFF: MERKLEY MEATS! 📢

Our annual Merkley Meats Fundraiser is back! ⚽🥩 Players will be selling August 29–September 11, so find your favorite GCSA player and get your orders in!

Payment is due to the player when you place your order. Players will pick up their orders on September 26th and begin distributing them to their buyers.

Make checks out to "Greene County Soccer Association"

This fundraiser does more than support projects around the fields — it helps us absorb rising costs for lawn care, field maintenance, facility maintenance, equipment, and more, while allowing us to keep registration rates as affordable as possible. We haven’t made a major registration increase in several years, and this fundraiser helps make that possible.

Not a meat person? We’re always happy to accept donations of any amount! If you’d rather contribute directly, send us a message and we’ll help get you the information you need.
