Brock Hutton (right), a 21-year member of Linthicum Lions Club Group, accepts a Melvin Jones Fellowship from Jim Katzaman, Linthicum Lions president, during the club's March 17 meeting.
The Melvin Jones Fellowship is named for Melvin Jones, the founder of Lions Clubs International. It is largely due to growth of the fellowship program that Lions Clubs International Foundation has been able to meet humanitarian needs in communities around the world.
Through LCIF funding, Lions, including District 22-A Lions of which Linthicum is a part, are fighting diabetes, preventable blindness, childhood cancer and more. Lions are feeding the hungry, responding to natural disasters, empowering young people for success and protecting our environment. With support from LCIF, Lions are making a difference in the world and changing lives for the better.
