Lindsay Gun Club

Lindsay Gun Club The Schuetzenverein, a secular society, was organized about 1907, and is probably the oldest organization in the town of Lindsay.

A Kaffee-kraenzchen was one of the regularly-scheduled events held in the hall. Every 3rd month, the Christian Mothers Society sponsored this event. Coffee and lunch were served and informational talk and general discussions were held. Wedding receptions and family gatherings often frequented the building, making it Lindsay's Community Center for many years. Until the mid-1920s, the meetings were held in German, then they changed to English and called their organization "The Gun Club".

Schueztenverein and helped paint/primer the siding for the east wall yesterday evening. It is volunteers and members like these individuals that help make this all possible. Thank you so much for your contribution.

We are planning to primer paint Tuesday and
Wednesday evening at 6 ish at the Schuetzenverein. I think there is a better chance to get more people to help in the evening since a lot of the members and volunteers work. I had knee surgery so I can't help, only make suggestions on the set up procedure. I see rain in the forecast on Friday so this job needs to be done ASAP. I think 5-10 people can knock this job out in a few hours. Please help if you can and be part of the historic Schueztenverein restoraton.

The construction crew working on the Schueztenverein will begin the work on the east wall next Monday or Tuesday. We are in need of help primer painting the siding so as not to delay construction. There are only 75 boards that need painting on one side of the board so it shouldn't take too long with some help. The building will be opened on Wednesday with all the painting material needed to do the job. So, if you can spare a couple of hours on Wednesday to paint, please help. I will post on the Schueztenverein and the other social media groups when the paint work starts, message me for more information.

No Schuetzenverein meeting for May. Waiting to ear from the contractor to start work on the east wall. Soon we will need help primer painting the back side of the siding. Please keep posted for the date we plan to primer, we will need help.

The Schuetzenverein will be receiving a shipment of siding today at 1:30. I We need to move the siding into the building. f anyone can help it would be really appreciated. Be at the Schuetzenverein at 1:30. Thank you.
