🇵🇪 ❤️ CONOCE A JOHN — UN NIÑO QUE DEJÓ UNA HUELLA EN MI CORAZÓN
Hay personas que llegan a nuestras vidas inesperadamente y dejan una huella para siempre. Para mí, una de esas personas es John. 💙
En el 2024, durante una visita a Ccatupata, una pequeña comunidad de Ayacucho, conocí a un niño que tocó mi corazón de una manera que jamás olvidaré.
Recuerdo que compré todos los chocolates Sublime que encontré en una tiendita, los corté en pedacitos y comencé a repartirlos entre los niños. Cuando estaba por darle otro a John, él me detuvo y, mediante señas, me explicó que otro niño solamente había recibido uno.
🥹❤️ Pudo haberse quedado con ese chocolate, pero prefirió pensar en alguien más.
John no puede escuchar ni hablar, pero eso nunca le impidió comunicarse conmigo. Incluso escribió su nombre en la tierra para que pudiera entenderlo.
Cuando llegó el momento de despedirme, me preguntó mediante señas si algún día regresaría. Le prometí que lo intentaría. Mientras nuestro carro se alejaba, salió corriendo detrás de nosotros para despedirse. Ese momento quedó grabado en mi corazón. ❤️
En el 2025, cumplí mi promesa y regresé a verlo.
En abril del 2026, con la autorización de su mamá, organizamos su viaje a Lima para una evaluación médica especializada, cuyos gastos cubrí personalmente. Los resultados confirmaron hipoacusia profunda bilateral, con mayor afectación en el oído izquierdo. El especialista nos explicó posibles tratamientos, incluyendo implantes cocleares y audífonos.
Aunque seguimos buscando la atención médica adecuada, no pierdo la esperanza. 🙏
John es un niño inteligente, noble y muy talentoso. Es todo un artista! 🎨 Seguimos comunicándonos por videollamadas de WhatsApp cuando podemos, y me muestra orgulloso sus hermosos dibujos.
❤️ John me enseñó que la bondad no necesita palabras y que el cariño no necesita sonidos.
A través de Voices of Hope, nuestro deseo es seguir ayudando a niños como John a recibir la atención y las oportunidades que merecen.
Su historia aún no termina, y mi esperanza de verlo salir adelante tampoco. 💙

🇺🇸 ❤️ MEET JOHN — A LITTLE BOY WHO LEFT A BIG MARK ON MY HEART
Some people come into our lives unexpectedly and leave a mark on our hearts forever. For me, one of those people is John. 💙
In 2024, during a visit to Ccatupata, a small community in Ayacucho, Peru, I met a little boy who touched my heart in a way I’ll never forget.
I remember buying all the Sublime chocolates I could find at a little store, cutting them into pieces, and sharing them with the children. When I was about to give John another piece, he stopped me and, through gestures, explained that another child had only received one.
🥹❤️ He could have taken that chocolate for himself, but instead, he thought of someone else.
John cant hear or speak, but that didn’t stop him from communicating with me. He even wrote his name in the dirt so I could understand him.
When it was time to leave, he asked through gestures if I would ever return. I promised I would try. As our car drove away, he ran after us to say goodbye. That moment stayed with me. ❤️
In 2025, I kept my promise and returned to see him.
In April 2026, with his mother’s permission, we arranged for John to travel to Lima for a specialized medical evaluation, which I personally covered. The results confirmed profound hearing loss in both ears, more severe in his left ear. The specialist discussed possible treatments, including cochlear implants and hearing aids.
Although we’re still searching for the right medical support, I haven’t given up hope. 🙏
John is intelligent, kind, and incredibly talented. He is a wonderful little artist! 🎨 We still connect through WhatsApp video calls whenever possible, and he proudly shows me his beautiful drawings.
❤️ John taught me that kindness doesn’t need words, and love doesn’t need sound.
Through Voices of Hope, our wish is to continue helping children like John receive the care and opportunities they deserve.
His story isn’t over, and neither is our hope for his future. 💙
