Changing Chances Rescue and Sanctuary non-profit 501(c)(3) organization was quite literally named after exactly what we do: change chances! At Changing Chances, we take in dogs that all other humane societies and rescues will not, such as behavior issue dogs that would otherwise be euthanized. Thirty fenced-in acres are home to Changing Chances, and once dogs are acclimated, they are able to explo
re every bit of it in an open environment. We find a good group of doggie friends to house together overnight or during visits in spacious runs with constant food and water, otherwise, our residents are free range and welcome to play or avoid as they choose - canines are pack animals after all!! Ran by experienced horse and canine trainers, Changing Chances is a place where a dog learns appropriate behavior to earn their place within the basically-free-range pack safely, while also providing a life they are genuinely comfortable with - lets face it, majority of dog bites are caused by ignoring warning signs and dogs in uncomfortable positions! Our sanctuary accommodates everything from ferals (dogs that would never thrive in a home environment because all they have ever known is living in the "wild"), to bite cases that don't deserve to lose their life (but need special handling), both falling into an unadoptable category. We also take in and sponsor behavior issue cases that are fostered through Certified Canine Behaviorists to receive the extra attention, structure and guidance necessary before being placed in a fitting home. Our mission is to change the chances of dogs that would be euthanized due to a poor start or lack of human knowledge of the true issues in front of them. We believe every misunderstood pet deserves a chance to show who they really are, get the help they need to find the perfect home, or live out their days peacefully at our Sanctuary.
