The recent Islamophobic statements by U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard at a Turning Point USA conference are unhinged, baseless, and disgusting.

Jewish Voice for Peace of Northern New Jersey unequivocally condemns her racist remarks. Gabbard’s vile claims that Muslim-Americans in Paterson are plotting to infiltrate institutions and violently impose Islamic law and that CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) has issued a call to impose sharia law bring to mind the centuries-old lies about Jews as a danger to society.

While statewide New Jersey officials have condemned the remarks, it is disgraceful, though not surprising, that the president and supporters of the administration have been silent. It should go without saying that Gabbard is unfit for office and that those who are silent in response to her comments are complicit.

We call on all New Jerseyans to reject Gabbard’s slanders and to support CAIR and support Paterson as a vibrant, multi-ethnic, multi-religious, diverse community.

NJ JEWS AND ALLIES OCCUPY BUILDING LOBBY WHERE SEN. BOOKER’S NEWARK OFFICE IS TO SAY, “SENATOR BOOKER, STAND UP FOR JUSTICE! STOP ARMING ISRAEL! LET GAZA LIVE!”

On Thursday, October 16, an action organized by Jewish Voice for Peace Northern New Jersey brought roughly 45 Jews and their allies together to occupy the lobby of One Gateway Plaza, the building in Newark, NJ where Senator Booker’s office is located, for over an hour to call out for his consistent funding of arms to Israel and the genocide in Gaza, his refusal to speak with, represent, or advocate for his constituents with these concerns, especially Palestinian New Jerseyans. Participants came with signs, banners, chants, songs, poetry, and speeches to illustrate their anger at the Senator’s hypocrisy for claiming to champion human rights and democracy and to demand that Senator Booker finally stand up for justice!

The group demands that Senator Booker:
1- Stop voting for arms that enable Israel’s slaughter, oppression, and dispossession of Palestinians!
2- Demand accountability: of Israel for its war crimes and of the U.S. government for giving Israel a blank check.
3- Remove sanctions from the International Criminal Court!
4- Support bills calling for the recognition of a Palestinian state!
5- Stop taking money from AIPAC and affiliated sources!

REPOSTED FROM Jewish Voice for Peace

To the Israeli government, even Palestinian trees pose a so-called security threat.
This past weekend, in just three days, the Israeli military uprooted 10,000 olive trees in al-Mughayyir village, in the occupied West Bank. Some of the trees were over 100 years-old.
The Israeli military’s Central Command Chief Avi Bluth said about the order: "Uprooting the trees was intended to deter everyone. Not just this village, but any village."
This act of environmental destruction is collective punishment, aimed at destroying Palestinian livelihood and severing Palestinian connection to their land. We stand with Palestinians in al-Mughayyir, as they grieve the loss of 10,000 olive trees.
Ripping olive trees out of the ground is nothing new to the Israeli military. Since 1967, the Israeli government has uprooted over 800,000 olive trees, and bulldozed hundreds of miles of agricultural land in Palestine. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians rely on the olive harvest for income.
The Israeli government targets olive trees because they uphold the deep ties Palestinians have to their land. Zionism, by aiming to build a Jewish-only state on stolen Palestinian land, erases Palestinian connection with the land by decimating the landscape, planting non-native trees, and preventing agricultural production. Because Zionist narratives rely on this erasure, olive trees indeed pose a “threat.”
This assault on olive groves in Al-Mughayyir comes in the midst of increased Israeli violence in the occupied West Bank, both carried out by the Israeli military and settlers. Working together, these groups displaced hundreds of Palestinians just this week, while the Israeli government announced plans to build 3,000 new settler homes in occupied East Jerusalem.
As anti-Zionist Jews, we oppose the Israeli government’s decades-long campaign of destroying Palestinian land and life. A free Palestine is a world where each life is precious — a place where every human and every plant can thrive without fear of being killed, uprooted, or destroyed.

This visual examines how the U.S. and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) weaponizes aid as a tool of genocide, creating what Palestinians in Gaza describe as a “grotesque theatre of cruelty” and a “death arena.”
