Humane Society of Lincoln County, Lincolnton, NC - Low Cost Spay & Neuter The Humane Society of Lincoln County, Inc. a not for profit 501(c)(3) organization founded 1989.

Our mission is to offer a low cost option to have pets spayed/neutered in an effort to prevent/reduce the number of animals that must be euthanized/abandoned

01/02/2026

As 2025 comes to a close, we reflect on a journey of compassion and community. HSLC started our affordable spay/neuter endeavor in 2000 and have s/n 17,930 animals. That’s over 17,000 animals not contributing to pet overpopulation.
Our number of spay/neuter surgeries performed in 2025 is: 148 dogs, 250 cats, total of 398.
We couldn’t be more grateful for the support of the community and our volunteers.
We hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season as we look forward to 2026. Wishing you and yours a very Happy New Year, may it be filled with good health, love and happiness.

July 4 is a short 2 weeks away. This holiday weekend is often full of patriotism, barbecues, pool parties, and fireworks. Though the celebrations are jam-packed with entertainment, it can be an anxious weekend for your pet. In fact, more pets go missing during the July 4th weekend than any other time of the year. However, with the right preparation and knowledge, you can keep your dog safe. 1. Make sure your dog or cat always has access to a comfortable, quiet and safe place to hide 2. At dusk, close your windows and curtains and turn on music or the television to muffle the loud noises that accompany them. 3. Be sure your pet is wearing a collar with an id tag with his name and your phone number. Make sure your pet’s microchip enrollment information is up to date in the case your pet manages to escape.
We wish everyone a fun and safe holiday weekend.
