‘Twas the night before Summer Camp and all through the land, the campers slept snug in their beds with visions of scouting, orienteering and cooking in
their heads.

Week 1 starts tomorrow, we can hardly wait. Knox Rocks forever. It’s gonna be so great!

Tomorrow is Beaver Day, where we come together to get camp set up for Summer Camp. We have had a few people ask how they can help support camp if they can't be there in person. We have added a few things to our Amazon wish list for camp that we could use to elevate our summer.

Or if you would like to be a part of the Knox Reservation Legacy, make your mark in brick that will pave the path to the Dining Hall and around future projects at the link in the comments below. Thank you for all you do in Scouting and for our Summer Camp. Knox Rocks!

National Youth Leadership Training. Simply put it is awesome leadership training for Scouts by a Youth Staff of Scouts and Scout Leader Support. We have worked long and hard to provide our Scouts the opportunity to attend, and this summer starting July 13th we will bring NYLT back to Knox Scout Reservation.

Every Troop should make it a point to have at least ONE Scout attend this course. It will be a highlight of their Scouting career, and will strengthen your Troop. Every Troop should consider paying the full $325 fee, or at least half of it for one of their Scouts to attend. Invest in your Unit. Invest in Your Scouts.

As of today the following Troops have heard the call and have at least 1 Scout registered to attend. We are getting closer to the magical number needed to run the course.

• Troop 122
• Troop 115
• Troop 10
• Troop 110
• Troop 1615
• Troop 7
• Troop 463

Will your Troop join together with the other Troops in the Georgia-Carolina Council? Remember what Smokey the Bear taught us, Only You .....

Call me, I will be happy to help your Troop figure this out. Dan Rogers 706-733-5277

Dear Scoutmasters, Crew Advisors, Committee Chairs, and Troop Leaders,
I am writing to encourage you to make a strong investment in your troop’s future by sending at least one Scout to the 2026 National Youth Leader Training (NYLT) Course, held this July at Robert E. Knox Scout Reservation.

NYLT is one of the most impactful leadership development experiences available in Scouting. Scouts who attend return with practical skills in communication, planning, teamwork, and ethical leadership—tools they can immediately use to help run meetings, organize activities, and mentor younger Scouts. Troops that regularly send youth to NYLT consistently report stronger patrol method, better program quality, and more engaged older Scouts who step up as leaders.

By committing to send even one Scout this year, you are planting seeds that will benefit your entire unit for years to come. The return on this investment is measured in stronger youth leadership, higher retention, and a more vibrant troop culture.

Please consider selecting and supporting at least one Scout (and ideally more) for this summer’s course. I would be happy to help answer questions or assist with registration if needed.
Thank you for all you do for our Scouts and for considering this important opportunity to strengthen your troop.
