Our office will be closed on Monday, October 12, in observance of Indigenous Peoples' Day. Indigenous Peoples' Day honors the histories, cultures, resilience, and continued presence of Native communities. At CLIA, our work is rooted in standing in solidarity with immigrants and refugees as they seek legal status, safety, and stability. We recognize that the movements for immigrant justice and Indigenous sovereignty are deeply connected through shared histories of displacement and forced movement. As we observe this day, we honor Indigenous leadership and reaffirm our commitment to supporting dignity, justice, and community stability for all displaced and migrating people.

Federal changes to noncitizen Medicaid eligibility are now in effect as of October 1, 2026.

Do not assume your coverage has ended until you receive an official notice. Log into iServe (iserve.nebraska.gov) to check your status and confirm the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has your current address and phone number.

If your coverage is affected, alternative programs such as the Refugee Resettlement Program, Clinic with a Heart, City of Lincoln Community Health Services, and others are available. For legal guidance or support addressing public benefit challenges, contact CLIA at (402) 471-1777.

We’re thrilled to share that CLIA has received our certification as a Lincoln Family-Friendly Workplace!

The new program by Lincoln Littles and Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development recognizes employers who demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting working families with young children, implement family-friendly workplace practices for their employees and help make Lincoln a great place to live, work and play by prioritizing family well-being and early childhood support.

We are proud that our family-friendly values apply equally to our hardworking team and the clients we serve. CLIA's doors are always open as a safe, supportive space for all families.

We had a wonderful time hosting our booth at the annual Harvest Moon Festival! This year was extra special, as the Asian Community & Cultural Center of Lincoln, NE presented CLIA with the Community Ally Award in recognition of our ongoing partnership. We are very grateful for this recognition and look forward to continuing our work together to empower local families and strengthen our Lincoln community!

We are absolutely blown away and so grateful to everyone who attended Neighbors, Not Strangers - Gallery of Belonging last Thursday! Thanks to your community support, ticket purchases, art sales, and donations, we were able to raise over $6,000 to help pay for additional legal representation and expand our pro bono immigration services across Nebraska. Simultaneously putting crucial funds directly into the hands of our participating immigrant artists through their artwork sales.

This evening was made special by the incredible talent, stories, and artwork by our eight featured first-generation and immigrant creators. Our 25th anniversary gallery was made possible through the generous commitment of our corporate and community sponsors who stand in solidarity with our neighbors. We want to express our deep gratitude to LUX Center for the Arts as our in-kind venue partner, Nelnet, the Nebraska Criminal Defense Attorneys Association (NCDAA), Latino Network, ALLO Fiber Nebraska, and Eagle Printing and Sign.
