Dolly's Legacy Animal Rescue's mission is to save pets who have been aband

oned and from rural, overcrowded shelters where they are out of hope to make it out alive. Far too many pets are facing a cruel death either on the streets, or at high-intake animal control facilities. We rescue dogs, puppies, cats & kittens, and place them into loving foster homes while they receive all the vet care needed, including spay/neuter, heartworm testing & treatment, vaccinations, microchipping, treatment for parasites, surgical intervention, and hospitalization. Dolly's Legacy Animal Rescue is a foster-based rescue group. Funds donated go towards our rescue efforts and the orphaned pets in our care. We are a federally registered 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization and a licensed animal rescue with the Nebraska Department of Agriculture. We are Silver Star rated with Guidestar, a member of the Nebraska Rescue Council and an approved rescue for more than a decade with AdoptaPet.com and Petfinder.com

ADOPTION POLICY: We do not operate a facility, we are a foster-home based rescue. The first step is to complete an adoption application prior to meeting the prospective pet. We will then review it checking vet reference(s) & home visit. All animals are subject to an adoption fee. We have some very special updates on our resilient mama and her gorgeous babies who have been on quite a healing journey with us. While they have been resting and recovering under our care, we knew they needed names as magnificent as their fighting spirits.

Welcome to our Magical Forest Family, where every name tells a story of strength, endurance, and new beginnings!

👑 Meet Mama: SEQUOIA
Meaning: Strength and resilience.

Her Story: True to her name, this incredible mama has shown unmatched fortitude. Through every hardship, she has poured every ounce of her energy into loving and protecting her babies. She is our gentle giant, and she’s finally getting the safe, pampered rest she deserves.

WILLOW: Represents flexibility, healing, and the graceful capacity to bend through life's toughest storms.

ASPEN: Reflects quiet determination and a fierce ability to thrive and withstand even the harshest environments.

💙 The Boys

Sweet Lilly has endured more heartbreak in her first year of life than any dog ever should. When she arrived from a rural shelter in Oklahoma, she looked like a typical sweet puppy—completely unaware of the silent nightmare she was hiding inside. We were completely unaware of her condition until she stepped off transport, unable to bear weight on her left rear leg and suffering from severe muscle wasting in her hind end.

When our vet took her initial x-rays this week, the truth was horrific. Lilly had suffered multiple severe injuries weeks before—including a complete fracture of her femur shaft and a hip joint completely torn from its socket—alongside a painful shift in her spine. We believe she was struck by a car days or weeks prior, and left to suffer in silence.

Despite the unimaginable pain she has carried, Lilly's sweet spirit refuses to fade. We have scheduled her for a critical consultation with an orthopedic specialty clinic, alongside a comprehensive CT scan of her pelvis, spine, and lower limbs to figure out how to give her back a pain-free life.

But we desperately need your help to be her miracle.

This emergency hits our rescue at an incredibly difficult time. Within days of each other, we have been struck by wave after wave of massive medical crises:

We are still fighting to pay off a staggering $10,000+ medical bill for a litter of seven tiny parvo puppies.

We are caring for their heartbroken mom, who is battling heartworm disease.

We are actively treating two additional rescue dogs for heartworm.

Each of these burdens on its own is an enormous strain, but facing them all at once threatens everything we do. We cannot let Lilly down now that she is finally safe with us. We are looking to our compassionate community to wrap their arms around this brave girl and help us fund the specialized care she so desperately needs.

We’re not promoting a dual adoption here; however these two just happen to be being fostered together and they have become fast friends! They can wrestle and play for hours, eat next to one another and switch bowls halfway through mealtime, and even snuggle up next to each other when wiped out after an afternoon at Off Leash Dog Bar.

Corky (the Boston) and Max (the perfect super pup) are both looking for their forever home(s). Please share and let’s find these two their happily ever after.
