Dolly's Legacy Animal Rescue's mission is to save pets who have been aband

oned and from rural, overcrowded shelters where they are out of hope to make it out alive. Far too many pets are facing a cruel death either on the streets, or at high-intake animal control facilities. We rescue dogs, puppies, cats & kittens, and place them into loving foster homes while they receive all the vet care needed, including spay/neuter, heartworm testing & treatment, vaccinations, microchipping, treatment for parasites, surgical intervention, and hospitalization. Dolly's Legacy Animal Rescue is a foster-based rescue group. Funds donated go towards our rescue efforts and the orphaned pets in our care. We are a federally registered 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization and a licensed animal rescue with the Nebraska Department of Agriculture. We are Silver Star rated with Guidestar, a member of the Nebraska Rescue Council and an approved rescue for more than a decade with AdoptaPet.com and Petfinder.com

ADOPTION POLICY: We do not operate a facility, we are a foster-home based rescue. The first step is to complete an adoption application prior to meeting the prospective pet. We will then review it checking vet reference(s) & home visit. All animals are subject to an adoption fee. All will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption if medically cleared & receive the age appropriate vaccinations in accordance with vet recommendation. Dolly's Legacy Animal Rescue

Yesterday marked the longest day of the year, a celebration of sunshine, growth, and new beginnings.
As we welcome the first days of summer, we're reminded that every rescue pet is waiting for a new beginning of their own.
Some are learning what it means to feel safe. Some are discovering toys, treats, and cozy beds for the very first time. Some are still waiting for the family they've been dreaming about.
The days are long, the sun is shining, and there's no better time to make memories with a furry best friend by your side.
Whether your summer plans include hiking trails, lazy afternoons on the patio, road trips, pup cups, or simply soaking up the sunshine, there's an adoptable pet who would love to be part of the adventure!

🖤 In Honor of Our Black Dogs 🖤

Let's talk about the dogs that often get overlooked.
The ones who don't always stand out in photos.
The ones who seem to wait a little longer.
The ones who watch other dogs leave for their forever homes while they stay behind.

Our black dogs.

They're just as silly. Just as loving. Just as loyal. Just as deserving.
They give the same kisses. They learn the same tricks. They snore on the couch just as loudly.
Yet black dogs often spend longer in shelters and rescues than dogs with lighter coats.
We're not sure why.
Maybe they can be harder to photograph. Maybe people don't realize how stunning they are up close. Maybe they've simply been underestimated.
But we know the truth.
Behind every shiny black coat is a dog hoping someone will stop scrolling long enough to see them.
Today we're celebrating our beautiful black dogs. 🖤
