Kiwanis Club of Lincoln Announces Decision to Dissolve, Distributes Funds to Local Organizations
Lincoln, IL – 10/2/2024 – After many years of dedicated service to the community, the Kiwanis Club of Lincoln has made the difficult decision to dissolve. The club, which has long been a cornerstone of local civic engagement and youth programs, voted to disband last month.
In keeping with our mission of supporting the community, the members of the Kiwanis Club have chosen to distribute their remaining funds to a number of local organizations. These recipients, whose work aligns with Kiwanis' values of community service and youth support, include:
- Salvation Army
- Logan County 4-H
- Moms Who Care
- Lincolnland CEO
- Lincoln Public Library
- Lincoln Junior High Builders Club
- Lincolnland Technical Education Center
- D.A.R.E. Program
- CAPCIL Head Start
In addition, the club will fund a college scholarship for a local student pursuing a vocational or trade program, continuing their tradition of fostering youth education and development.
The Kiwanis Club of Lincoln has been honored to serve this community for many years. While this decision was not made lightly, we are proud to leave a lasting impact through our contributions to these wonderful organizations,” said Dirk Conrady, Club President. “We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported us throughout the years and who has helped us serve Lincoln and the surrounding areas.”
The Kiwanis Club of Lincoln would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to all members, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners who have helped make its work possible.
