The Attorney General serves the people, not the president.

That's why Todd Blanche's nomination is so concerning. He was the president's former personal attorney, and it's fair of us to question whether he can truly serve the public instead of a former client.

Our justice system depends on an Attorney General whose loyalty is to the Constitution and the American people, not any one person. Call your senator today at (202) 224-3121 and urge them to vote NO on Blanche!

The virtual Bridges Out of Poverty Book Club will soon be kicking off for Fall!

Led by our Community Resource Manager Georgann Roth, this deep dive into Bridges Out of Poverty explores how poverty is shaped by systemic and societal conditions that most folks aren't consciously aware of.

This book club will expand both your understanding of and ability to address these core issues, as well as provide opportunities for reflection and meaningful discussion.

Our first meeting takes place on August 4th—click the link below to sign up today!

As we celebrate our 35th anniversary, we’re looking back at the remarkable journey of the Lorraine Motel — from the 1982 auction to the National Civil Rights Museum's 1991 dedication, led by a determined coalition of founders who helped turn a historic site into a place of reflection, reconciliation, and living history.

in 1964, the Civil Rights Act was signed into law, making it illegal to discriminate based on race, color, religion, s*x or national origin.

It was a landmark victory, but the work is far from over. Voter suppression, workplace discrimination and attacks on civil rights persist.

Today, America turns 250.

And as fireworks light the night sky across the country tonight, it’s a good time to reflect on the true meaning of patriotism.

Real patriotism is not blind loyalty. It's the courage to hold this country to the ideals it was founded on: liberty, justice, and equality for ALL.

This Fourth of July, let's reclaim the word patriotism and all that comes with it.

An enormous thank you to the folks at KempsCows and B&R Stores for their donation of 27,000 shelf-stable milk cartons for our neighbors!

Milk is one of the most difficult items to both store safely and distribute in time for folks to use, but that doesn't stop it from being one of our most requested products.

As a part of an effort to provide milk to neighbors experiencing food insecurity this summer, Kemps is donating more than 400,000 total Giving Cow milk cartons across the Midwest. Giving Cow is shelf-stable and lasts up to year—giving us the opportunity to provide neighbors with milk when they need it most.

We're grateful for the support of both Kemps and B&R, because making sure nutritious food is accessible to everyone in our service area and beyond takes plenty of teamwork and a whole lot of compassion 🧡🐮
