This week, Troop D Members delivered bicycles to the Guardians of the Children in North Platte. Donating to a group that supports children who have experienced abuse & other life-altering events is humbling and we are thankful to have a positive impact. We appreciate our sponsors for allowing us to give back to our communities in meaningful ways. Nebraska State Patrol Guardians Of The Children - FlatRock Chapter

NSP Mourns Loss of Trooper Kyle McAcy

FEBRUARY 17, 2025 (OMAHA, NEB.) — The Nebraska State Patrol is heartbroken to announce that Trooper Kyle McAcy #302 was killed in the line of duty today in a traffic crash on Interstate 80.

Preliminary investigation shows that Trooper McAcy was responding with other troopers to a crash on Interstate 80 near mile marker 424, between Ashland and Greenwood. During that response, Trooper McAcy was outside his patrol unit and was struck by a snowplow.

Troopers immediately rushed to his aid, but Trooper McAcy succumbed to his injuries on scene. The Nebraska State Patrol has asked the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office to conduct the crash investigation. Trooper McAcy’s family has been notified and NSP personnel are providing support at this time.

“Our NSP family is devastated today,” said Colonel John Bolduc, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “Kyle was a dedicated trooper, a devoted public servant, and most importantly a good friend to many in Omaha and beyond. His loss is being felt by countless people. Please keep his family, friends, colleagues, and community in your hearts as they deal with this unimaginable loss.”
