Big news: Knitted Village is officially a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit!

This milestone belongs to every volunteer, donor, supporter, and friend who has believed in our mission. Thank you for helping us build something truly special.

We’ve been working behind the scenes to prepare for an exciting new season, and we’re almost ready to relaunch with expanded programs to serve even more neighbors in our community.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sending out a new Volunteer Interest Form so we can connect people with opportunities that fit their passions and talents.

Right now, we’re especially looking for volunteers with experience in:
✨ Graphic design & branding
✨ Social media strategy
✨ Website development

Knitted Village is putting on a summer water drive, with donations going to Arbor Axe House and Code Beer Company who will give out water to nearby bikers and pedestrians.

We’re (almost) back!

After taking some time behind the scenes to build, plan, and spend some much needed time with family, we’re excited to share that Knitted Village is preparing to return to serving our community.

We’re still putting a few final touches in place, but we’ve been working hard and are excited to share some new programs and exciting ways to support our neighbors in sustainable ways.

We are incredibly grateful for your patience and belief in this mission during our time away. The kindness that built this village hasn’t gone anywhere, and we can’t wait to gather it together again.

We're pressing pause for the month of January.

After an incredible few months of serving neighbors, Knitted Village will be taking January to focus on behind-the-scenes work, planning, and building future programs that will help us care for our community in sustainable ways.

While we take this short break from active programming, our hearts are still very much here. We're excited about what's ahead and can't wait to be back soon with more ways to share kindness, build connection, and show up for our neighbors.

In only two short months, after launching in the final days of October, Knitted Village served 73 meals in 2025, reaching 301 neighbors across our community.

149 adults and 152 children, each one met with dignity and connection.

These numbers represent more than meals. They represent neighbors stepping up, kitchens opening, doors being knocked on, and moments of connection that matter deeply during hard seasons.

Thank you to every volunteer who cooked, delivered, donated, or shared our mission. You helped prove that small acts of kindness, when woven together, create something powerful.

As we begin the celebration of Kwanzaa, we honor the seven principles that guide this beautiful holiday: unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith.

Each one reflects what we strive to nurture here every day - connection, growth, community care, and the belief that when we support each other, we all grow stronger.

To our neighbors who celebrate, may your week be filled with joy, reflection, and togetherness.

And to our entire community, may we carry the spirit of Kwanzaa into the days ahead: choosing unity over isolation, compassion over indifference, and small acts of kindness that uplift us all.

From our village to yours, joyous Kwanzaa.
