The Parks and Recreation Department invites the community to take part in several upcoming events and a community survey at Antelope Park, 1650 Memorial Drive, throughout the month of August.
Upcoming activities include:
Movies in the Park – Friday, August 14, 8:30 p.m.
Hydrant Party – Monday, August 24, 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Party in the Parks – Sunday, August 30, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Movies in the Park
Movies in the Park return to Antelope Park on Friday, August 14 at 8:30 p.m., offering families a relaxing and fun evening under the stars. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and snacks to enjoy a free outdoor movie.
Hydrant Party
A fifth Hydrant Party will be held at Antelope Park on Monday, August 24 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. giving families another fun opportunity to cool off before the end of summer. Kids can enjoy spraying water, outdoor play and a relaxed neighborhood gathering designed to help residents beat the heat and enjoy time together in the park.
Party in the Parks
Party in the Parks, a free, family‑friendly celebration, will take place Sunday, August 30 from 1:30 to 3:30 PM at Antelope Park. This end‑of‑summer event will feature activities and attractions for all ages, including a bounce house, balloon animals and face painting, Pioneers Park Nature Center wild animal encounters, yard games provided by NeighborWorks Lincoln, a Lincoln–Lancaster County Health Department Bike Rodeo, the Lincoln City Libraries Bookmobile and ice cream provided by UNL Dairy.
“Antelope Park continues to be one of our community’s most treasured gathering spaces,” said Maggie Stuckey-Ross, Lincoln Parks and Recreation Director. “From Movies in the Park to the Hydrant Party and Party in the Parks, these events create opportunities for families and neighbors to connect, enjoy the outdoors and celebrate everything our parks bring to Lincoln.”
As part of upcoming improvements to Antelope Park, Lincoln Parks & Recreation will also be collecting information for an Antelope Park Visitor Experience survey. The survey opens Friday, August 14, and volunteer staff will be present during the Movies in the Parks, Hydrant Party and Party in the Parks events to assist attendees in completing responses and sharing feedback about the park.
All events are offered at no cost to participants and do not require registration.
