SAFETY BY THE NUMBERS | Here's a look at the success of the Nuisance Vehicle Ordinance in Lincoln! We recently completed a second Memorial Day weekend traffic detail and here are the updated numbers.

LPD has deemed ❗150 vehicles❗ disorderly and impounded them since April 15, 2025, including 26 in the last two months and 7 of those over the holiday weekend.

59% of those occurred on O Street. 56% occurred between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m. with weekends being the busiest.

City code allows LPD to impound vehicles involved in street racing and reckless driving. Vehicles will be towed but can be immediately released after the first violation, along with receiving a written notice. Vehicles will be impounded for 10 days on the second or subsequent violations.

Lincoln Parks and Recreation is celebrating the United States’ 250th birthday with several free events and activities. 🎂⭐

Such as:
⭐No Cost Open Shelter Reservations July 1st through 5th.
⭐No Cost Pool Day on July 4th.
⭐An American 250 Bingo card that highlights patriotic locations and events throughout the City parks system. The first 250 participants who submit a completed BINGO card will receive a small prize.
⭐The America 250 Tree Planting Initiative is to honor America’s birthday by planting 250 trees.
