International Missionary Foundation (IMF)

International Missionary Foundation (IMF) IMF is a Catholic non-profit missionary organization dedicated to serving the poor and neglected in developing and under-developed countries.

The vision of International Missionary Foundation is to address Spiritual and Physical poverty by fostering Parish2Parish relationships that are based on mutual love, respect and benefits in response to the Second Vatican Council and encouraged by the Magisterium. IMF has developed a unique Parish2Parish Mission Program, connecting Catholic parishes in the U.S. with impoverished parishes in develo

ping and under-developed countries. Instead of a simple one-time appeal to a parish for financial support, we encourage parishes to sponsor a specific “human development project” for a time span of one to three years. During this time, parishioners commit to supporting the project through their prayers, financial support, parish development, and participation of mission trips to the community itself.

“The grace of renewal cannot grow in communities unless each of these extends the range of its charity to the ends of the earth and devotes the same care to those afar off as it does to those who are its own members.” –Decree on the Missionary Activity of the Church Ad Gentes, 37

The International Missionary Foundation has three Apostolic Priorities which consist of Parish renewal, Parish2Parish relationships and Serving Christ in the poor. Parish Renewal: To prayerfully facilitate an atmosphere to experience the grace of renewal, while embracing the call for the New Evangelization. The Second Vatican Council invited all, “To a profound interior renewal, so that having aa lively awareness of their own responsibility for the spreading of the Gospel, they may play their part in missionary work among the nations.” (Decree on the Missionary Activity of the Church Ad Gentes, 25)

Parish2Parish Relationships: To actively engage Catholic parishes to be involved in Parish2Parish relationships that are mutually beneficial. “Cooperating between the churches, in an authentic reciprocity that prepares them both to give and to receive, is a source of enrichments for all of them and touches the various spheres of ecclesial life.” (St. JPII)

Serving Christ in the Poor: Inspired by the unmitigated love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus for humanity, we foster an opportunity to encounter and serve the suffering Christ in the poor. “Whatsoever you do to the least of my people, that you do unto me.” (Matt 25:40)

We are extremely blessed to be able to announce that we have our first official full partnership with the Cathedral of the Risen Christ Parish in Lincoln, NE!!

IMF is currently leading a parish Mission at Cathedral on JPII’s encyclical, Mission of the Redeemer focusing on the topics of love, forgiveness and service.

Please keep in prayer all parishioners at Cathedral, that they may have a deeper encounter with the Lord’s love, that they may have a deeper desire to forgive and let go, and a desire to serve so as to share the love of God with their brother’s and sister’s.

We pray that this may give glory to God and for many blessing’s upon Cathedral and the Lincoln Diocese.

God is with you. He is for you. You're the apple of Gods eye and He upholds in you in His strong right hand. He is with you in your joys and prosperity, He is with you in your pain and your sufferings. He never leaves you. He looks at you in the same way a mother looks at her newborn child. He is patient and gentle. Lay down your life for the Lord the same way He laid His life down for us.

Pray for your brothers and sisters. You don't know why person A acts this way or does this thing. You don't know their history, their pain, their wounds, their trauma. But God does. Be gentle with one another as God is gentle with you. Love one another as Christ has loved you. Know that you're chosen by the Lord. No matter your vocation, your job, your unemployment, your sufferings, your sins, you're CHOSEN. The fact that you are chosen doesn't depend on you, but on Him and His love for you. He loves you. May God bless you today.

A few quotes from one of our participants, Michael, from our latest Come Alive seminar at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ:

When you were prayed with at the healing retreat what did you experience?

I had never been prayed with over like that before. Honestly it kind of scared me. I thought what is this magic stuff going on? But, going into the retreat I was just open and told God whatever you want for me. While being prayed over I just broke down and started to cry and was filled with calmness and relief that everything was going to be ok in my life. It’s like this balloon popped and the air was let out and I could finally just breathe for the first time in my life. I remember I was walking and felt like I was floating, it was crazy. Then I knelt and started to pray but I couldn’t say the prayer I wanted. I just started to breathe heavily and suddenly just started to speak in tongues and wasn’t expecting it. I never believed in that stuff before. I was just so overwhelmed with joy and peace and took a breathe-out and tongues just started to speak through me. It was a gift I received through the healing retreat and my heart was open to it.

From the beginning of Come Alive to the end did you experience a difference in your relationship with Jesus?

I remember on day one saying, “I believe in God but I don’t know about this Jesus guy.” Those were the words that came out of my mouth on the first day. But, by the end of Come Alive I came to fall in love with the savior of the Universe who died for me in a very personal way. I gained intellectual knowledge of God, but I already had that. The knowledge I knew about God sank to my heart and I encountered a relationship with Christ for the first time. I think Jesus had been constantly knocking at the door of my heart asking me to let him in and this retreat allowed me to do that.

Here are a few testimonials from our Come Alive Seminar most recently led at Cathedral of the Risen Christ Parish:

Healing retreat testimony:

"The Holy Spirit healed me of so much of what I had been placing my identity in. Namely in what others thought of me. It was so beautiful to be freed from the slavery of comparison. I am his beloved son. That is enough." -Alec

On being prayed over for an increase infilling of the Holy Spirit and the Spiritual gifts:

“I have not realized my gifts but I have a strong desire to learn and keep asking! I do have a deeper appreciation and relationship with the Holy Spirit because of the experience. It was one of the most moving experiences. Just to realize I could ask for the gifts."

Overall Grace of Come Alive Testimony:

“The desire to forgive at the ½ day healing retreat and the receiving of forgiveness.”

It has been an absolute honor and blessing to be able to lead our second Come Alive seminar at Cathedral of the Risen Christ Parish here in Lincoln, NE. Here are some testimonials from the participants as they wrapped up this seven week journey:

What was an overall grace from Come Alive?

“Compassion and peace in my relationship with my husband. Forgiveness with my adult kids and helping to open their hearts for healing. Pursuing my spiritual gifts. I want more than ever to know and understand them and work to serve the Lord with them.”

“Increased peace and gentleness in my family relationships, deeper desire for prayer and more patience.”

“During the third week I was super emotional even before we started. I knew God was breaking down walls to allow forgiveness, healing and love to come into my family and for me to be that spiritual leader as God sees to use me.”

To God the glory!
