Each year, the Foundation also awards scholarships to area medical students. Becoming a member of LCMA provides numerous social and philanthropic activities for members to become involved and stay connected. Interest groups such as "Book Club," "Playgroup," "Just Friends" and "Nature's Niche" are some of the fun LCMA groups that meet on a regular basis. Also, several LCMA member meetings and fundraising events are held throughout the year. The member meetings are typically afternoon social gatherings that often have interesting speakers along with updates from members on what the calendar holds for LCMA fundraising and volunteer activities. LCMA provides numerous ways for members to get involved--volunteer for just a few hours, a day or several times throughout the year. LCMA also has board positions and committees for members to get involved in fundraising, grant disbursements, membership development and other interesting LCMA endeavors.
