Launch Leadership We empower youth leaders to build better schools and communities.

The Volunteer Staff of Launch Leadership is dedicated to fostering a culture of leadership among middle school and high school students. Our programs, services and resources teach students how to understand what kind of leader they are, so that they may lead others. Founded in 1976 as the Nebraska Association of Student Councils Volunteer Staff, our group - consisting of students, educators and ot

her professionals - works year-round to promote youth leadership. We carry out our mission through school year services such as One-Day Workshops and Leadership Retreats, and our big annual Summer Leadership Workshops, conducted in conjunction with the Nebraska Association of Student Councils. If you are a student, an educator or a parent who can identify a need for leadership in your school or community, we're here to give you the skills, the confidence and the resources you need to make it happen.

2026 RYLA applications are due this Sunday, August 30th!

The third annual Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Powered by Launch Leadership will take place Oct. 2-4 at Camp Calvin Crest in Fremont, NE. This summer, Launch Leadership’s Awareness Fair gave students the opportunity to turn the causes they care about into action and make a lasting impact in their communities.

With support from a generous grant from Snow-Redfern Foundation, the winning teams selected nonprofits connected to the causes they advocated for to receive donations.

This morning, our Executive Director Timmy Tamisiea presented a check to Stepping Stones an organization working to support youth and address addiction.

While our student presenters — Daisy Johnston, Emma Heitmann, Ruth Greska, and Avery Lange — weren’t able to join us for the presentation, their hard work and generosity were still very much present. Their gift is another example of how our Launch delegates are using their voices and passions to create meaningful change.

We’re so proud of these young leaders and grateful to the organizations helping turn their ideas into real impact.

This summer, Launch Leadership’s Awareness Fair gave students the opportunity to turn the causes they care about into action.

Thanks to a generous grant from Snow-Redfern Foundation, the winning teams were able to select nonprofits making a difference in their communities to receive donations.

This afternoon, delegate representatives Ethan Brown and Ryland Martin, along with Jerimiah Price and Carter Watts, joined us in presenting a $4,000 donation to Arbor Day Foundation.

The work Arbor Day Foundation is doing is incredible, and we were so grateful to meet their team and see firsthand the impact they’re making. Moments like this are a reminder of just how much our delegates can accomplish when they turn their passion into action. This summer, Launch Leadership’s Awareness Fair gave students the opportunity to turn the causes they care about into action.

Thanks to a generous grant from Snow-Redfern Foundation , the winning teams were able to select nonprofits making a difference in their communities to receive donations.

This morning, delegate representatives Eleanor Caughlin, Taylor Ballard Bucknall, and Evey Friedman joined us in presenting a $3,000 donation to Women's Fund of Omaha.

This donation represents the passion and hard work of the entire team. Seeing our delegates light up at the impact they have made was one of the most amazing things to witness, and seeing them turn their passion into real impact is one of the best parts of what we do. We’re incredibly proud of these young leaders and can’t wait to see the difference they’ll continue to make.

This summer, Launch Leadership held its annual Awareness Fair, where students created presentations advocating for causes they care deeply about.

Thanks to a generous grant from Snow-Redfern Foundation, we were able to raise the stakes. The entire Summer Workshop delegation voted for their favorite presentations, and the winning teams selected a nonprofit supporting their cause to receive a donation.

This morning, our delegate representative, Piper Doughtery, joined us in presenting a $1,500 donation to Health Center Association of Nebraska.

This donation represents the work of the entire team: Piper Doughtery, Jordyn Montague, Coleman Slater, and Madeline Jensen. While Piper had the opportunity to present the check on behalf of the group, this achievement was made possible by the dedication and passion of all four delegates.

Seeing our delegates turn their passion into real impact is one of the best parts of what we do. We’re incredibly proud of these young leaders and can’t wait to see the difference they’ll continue to make.

Applications for our next class of Launch Volunteer Staffers are officially open! ❤️‍🔥

We're proud to have a dedicated staff made up of individuals with diverse backgrounds, life experiences, and beliefs. Our volunteers are teachers, entrepreneurs, students, engineers, marketing professionals, and so much more. We are makers, doers, thinkers, and everyone in between!
