Today reminded us why the Lincoln Bike Kitchen exists.

Families, students, commuters, and longtime supporters all came out for our annual bike sale — picking up refurbished bikes, sharing stories, and helping fuel a mission that matters.

Every dollar raised goes right back into getting bikes to people who need them most.

And thanks to the matching grant from , your support goes twice as far.

Thank you, Lincoln, for showing up with heart and helping us keep our community moving.

Thank you, Lincoln.

We are humbled, grateful, and inspired by the incredible support shown for the Lincoln Bike Kitchen through Give to Lincoln Day.

Because of you, we'll continue transforming donated bicycles into reliable transportation for children, adults, and families throughout our community. Every gift, every share, and every word of encouragement helps move our mission forward.

Thank you for believing in what we do and in the power of a bicycle to change lives.

A special thank you to the Lincoln Community Foundation for making Give to Lincoln Day possible and for their continued commitment to strengthening our community through local nonprofits.

Follow us to see the great things we'll accomplish together this year. The work continues, and we're excited to share the journey with you. 🚲❤️

The part nobody sees.

Volunteers repair donated bikes, recycle parts and tires, fit helmets, add locks, and carefully match each bike to someone who needs it most.

And then, someone rides away on that bike.

A child with a bike for summer.
An adult with transportation to work.
A family with one less barrier standing in the way.

Today is Give to Lincoln Day — the last day to give.

LBK was proud to support at their first-ever Pedal for Madonna ride this past Saturday. Our team provided on‑site mechanical support as more than 80 riders—using both adaptive and standard bikes—took on the beautiful course through Mahoney Park.

Adaptive bikes are central to our mission of making cycling accessible, and this was our first outreach event using our new LBK Mobile Outreach Trailer.

Kim drove 80 miles from Fairbury to bring bikes to the KLKN Bike Donation Drive. She not only brought her 3 bikes, she rallied her neighborhood to also donate and hauled a load of 14 bikes to Lincoln.

We are grateful... because those bikes contributed to us matching the exact number of bikes received last year. THREE HUNDRED THIRTY ONE BIKES! Thank you Lincoln, Fairbury, and the other communities in helping us put more people on bikes.

Every bike donated to the Lincoln Bike Kitchen gets a second life and helps someone in our community get to work, school, appointments, and more. 💙
This incredible response shows what happens when a community comes together to make transportation accessible for people who need it most.
