Friday, June 19th., the KZUM offices will be closed in observance of Juneteenth. This is a holiday celebrated on June 19 to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the US. The holiday was first celebrated in Texas, where on that date in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil War, enslaved people were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation.

This Thursday June 18th is going to be another beautiful evening for music at Stransky! Head to 17th and Harrison St for a great night of music! Blue House with the Rent to Own Horns will get the park rockin! Kouzina will be serving up some great Mediterranean food. Bring your blankets, chairs, water, bug spray and some $$$ to support this free music series! We will be joined by Parrish Studios. Visit their table and participate in art for all and find out more about this amazing arts organization! As an added bonus, we will be hosting a KZUM volunteer programmer meet n greet! Stop by the KZUM booth and meet some of your favorite on air volunteers! Music starts at 7pm.

TOMORROW ARE THE Star City Pride Events!

The parade is in the morning. Festivities are in the afternoon. We'll be driving around and boothing at Pride, so don't forget to wave! I will also be sharing a sneak listen of tomorrow's Pride-themed Beta Radio before it airs at noon.

STRANSKY IS HERE! Thursday June 11th is now opening day of KZUM’s Stranksy Park Concert Series! Head to 17th and Harrison St for a great night of music! Birthday Girl and Swaul Pope will share the bill with a night of fun, dreamy, poppy tunes that will delight! C Berry's BBQ will be serving up some great food. Bring your blankets, chairs, water, bug spray and some $$$ to support this free music series! We will be joined by the Art Bus LNK. Visit the hot pink bus (Can't miss it...it's fabulous) to participate in art for all and find out more about this amazing organization! Music starts at 7pm. Rain out call will be made at 3pm, day of.

STRANSKY IS HERE! Thursday June 4th is opening day of KZUM’s Stranksy Park Concert Series! Head to 17th and Harrison St for a great night of music! Womanish Girl will kick off the series with scorching rock n roll that will blow your mind! Chi Style Kitchen will be serving up some great food. Bring your blankets, chairs, water, bug spray and some $$$ to support this free music series! We will be joined by the Lux Center for the Arts. Visit their table to participate in art for all and find out more about their amazing organization! Music starts at 7pm. Rain out call will be made at 1pm, day of.

Tune in at 99.3FM and the dial or stream at KZUM.org: On Thursday, May 28, the American Red Cross called for communities across America to donate blood, citing an alarming drop in scheduled donations putting national blood supplies under pressure. Looking local, American Red Cross and the Nebraska Community Blood Bank play a critical role in gathering and distributing blood.donations. WE DID IT! More than 500 donors contributed to KZUM during Give to Lincoln and showed up for community radio in a big way! Over 55k has been donated and it's still trickling in! We are in an era where funding for independent media is scarce. KZUM had 25% of our revenue slashed this year. Because of you, it doesn't seem like a huge hurdle. We can do this together! Now, tune in and tune it up! Thank you Lincoln!
