Coalition for a Strong Nebraska

Coalition for a Strong Nebraska The Coalition for a Strong Nebraska (CSN) is a statewide, nonpartisan coalition that supports structu Nebraskans work hard.

The Coalition for a Strong Nebraska is a group of advocates, researchers, foundations, service providers, and community leaders who advocate for investments in common-sense systems that create a Nebraska where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Yet, too many of us cannot access the basic building blocks of the Good Life. Low wage employment, lack of access to education and training, and inade

quate support systems and resources mean that hard work doesn’t always pay. We organize and build capacity within Nebraska's network of nonprofits to impact poverty policy to create an environment in which the lives of people experiencing poverty may be improved.

Nonprofit Lobby Day - Cause Collective

Join the sixth annual Nebraska Nonprofit Lobby Day on February 25, 2026.

Nonprofits and the people they serve are impacted by policy-making everyday. Nonprofit Lobby Day is a great way to learn about how your nonprofit can engage in the legislative process (yes, lobbying is okay!) and connect with Senators serving in the Nebraska Legislature.

Join Cause Collective to visit the State Capitol for some real-time practice sharing the social and economic impacts of nonprofits in Nebraska.

Event Partners: Senator Danielle Conrad, Coalition for a Strong Nebraska, Give Nebraska, Nebraska Civic Engagement Table, and Nonprofit Association of the Midlands.

As chair of the Appropriations Committee, my colleagues and I navigated several budget crises. The situation in Nebraska right now is not one.

We are so pleased to announce our first guest speaker at our upcoming “Neighbors, Not Strangers” fundraiser event! TorPeki is a current client of ours who’s been with us since 2022. She first came to the United States with refugee status with her four young children, but was forced to leave behind her infant son in a refugee camp due to not having anyone to help her fill out the correct paperwork. When she came to CLIA, we were able to help her obtain her Green Card and reunite her with her baby in less than a year. TorPeki’s story is one of unimaginable hardship, yet through it all she never stopped fighting. She refused to be broken by war, oppression, and exile, with every struggle fueling her determination to reclaim her life and the future stolen from her. Now she is a published author of her memoir A Girl From Afghanistan: Miracle Life Mysterious Me.

Purchase your ticket to “Neighbors, Not Strangers” today to hear her powerful story firsthand.

It’s a national day of action to pressure the USDA and Trump Administration to use all available funds to get SNAP benefits out November 1! Despite what they have said, the USDA can make these benefits happen next month - even during a government shutdown - but so far have refused to do so.

Without action, 42 million Americans, including 150,000 Nebraskans, won’t get their food assistance on time. There’s no reason families should go hungry.

Call or email your members of Congress and ask them to urge the USDA to act now! bit.ly/fundSNAP
