Playing around with an AI program... This is Dr 1st LT Lorenzo Lowe Frazier (Past-Commander Frazier's 4 great Uncle) of the Green County Militia Cavalry. One of the Camp's MOLLUS ancestors.
This new technology is just incredible.

So happy to have our Camp Flag, Charter and MOLLUS banner displayed with the US Flag at the Camp's meeting location at the Lincoln Community Library. The Board of the Library has been so wonderful to the Camp over the past several years and we could not ask for a better meeting location. This display is not only for the Camp, but for the Community to show that its history is still alive within all of us.

Very honored to attend (taking the photos) the swearing-in of several new members to the Rhode Island Commandery of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion (MOLLUS) on the 5th of April at the Govenor Sprague Mansion in Cranston, RI.
Our Commandery has been steadily growing over the past year, with very dedicated members, from distinguished military ancestors.

What a great day!
Members of the Stannard, Ripley and Garfield Camps along with their wives and members of the Lincoln Vermont Historical Society, had a wonderful time together celebrating the first anniversary of the signing of the Charter for the Garfield Camp. Wonderful dinner at the Waybury Inn in East Middlebury Vermont. Commander Frazier of the Garfield Camp held back his emotions of gratitude and thanks to all who were in attendance.

September 28, 2024
I went to a Vermont Old Cemetery Association (VOCA) meeting today at the Mary Baker-Allen chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) in Cornwall Vermont.
What a great building with so much history in every nook and cranny of the facility.
I had been working with the digital version of the book; "Vermont in the civil war. A history of the part taken by the Vermont soldiers and sailors in the war for the Union, 1861-5" by George Grenville Benedict, 1826 for many member verifications and other research for members here in Vermont. Looking through the hundreds of books in the facilities shelves... There it was... an actual hard copy of the book that I had gotten so much use from over the past several years. It's so true... holding the history in your hand, is so much different than just reading words on a computer screen. Thanks to all at the DAR Hall for a wonderful day.

Great day working with Brother Colomb at his Civil War veteran's gravesite at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Fairfield Vermont yesterday. It was a beautiful day to honor this veteran by a memorial cleanup that probably had never been done. We plan on returning in the spring to give the gravestones the next "D2" spraying and another scrubbing. I hope to work on getting a "proper" Civil War soldier memorial stone for his veteran ancestor.

Commander Whipple of the Stannard Camp got a great photo of me (Commander Frazier of the Garfield Camp), last Memorial Day Parade in Essex Vermont. He sent it to me today. Although, I honor my MOLLUS veteran wearing this uniform, it is highly unlikely an Ozark Missouri (Christian County) Cavalryman 1st LT would have had such a flashy uniform in the Home Guard... Maybe after the war for various GAR functions and such.

Today (July 2nd) is the 143rd anniversary of the tragic shooting of then President James A. Garfield.

On July 2, 1881, newly inaugurated President James A. Garfield was mortally wounded by a deranged gunman as he prepared to board a train in Washington, D.C.

Through the rain and thunderstorms, we were able to dedicate the memorial replaced by the Vermont Old Cemetery Association, and the Vergennes Burial Ground Restoration Project today. It was an incredible turnout of many of the Garfield Camp Brothers, along with the Vermont SVR members. As soon as I gave the memorial speech, the skies opened up with a deluge of rain with thunder and lightning. Earlier the DAR had a memorial service for a Veteran that was both in the Revolutionary War, along with the War of 1812. It was a great turn-out of all the groups and several townspeople also braved the weather. My personal thanks to all who attended.

Today; on Decoration Day, The James A. Garfield Camp 62 was honored to be part of an over 20-year tradition of the Lincoln (Vermont) Community School honoring the Veterans interned at the Maple Cemetery in that Town. The school children "march" from the school about 2 miles and take part in several ceremonies from different individuals of the School and Town. We were so very happy to be included this year in this long-standing memorial service. The children, teachers along with the parents made us feel very welcome.
