A Message from our local parking services friends (Jan 25, 2021)

Greetings -

It’s that time of year when Lincoln experiences winter storms & our goal is to keep the city streets safe & clear. This letter is a reminder about how the City’s Snow Removal Plan affects you. Due to the snow emergency, the Mayor may prohibit parking on both sides of the street in areas designated as Snow Removal Districts. From January 25th at 2pm to January 27th at 9am parking is free at Center Park garage located at 1120 “N” Street. This is subject to change. All changes will be announced at parkandgo.org.

Snow Removal District. In these areas, the snow is plowed into windrows, loaded into trucks and hauled out of the area. Parking is banned on both sides of the street, including metered stalls. Typically, snow removal occurs between midnight and 8AM. Vehicles will need to be off the street or risk being cited and towed. All bans remain in effect regardless of the status of the street until terminated by the Mayor.

Stay off the street & out of the snow by parking in a garage. During a Downtown District Snow Emergency, the Center Park garage, located at 1120 “N” Street, is FREE from January 25th at 2pm to January 27th at 9am. All other City parking garages offer the first hour FREE, $1.25 per hour & $11.25 max per day. Visit our website at www.parkandgo.org for a map of all downtown parking facilities.

For inquiries or more information, go to snow.lincoln.ne.gov or call us at 402-441-PARK(7275).

Drive and park safely this winter,

As someone who has had their car towed in a prior ban ... let me say that it stinks walking from the Haymarket to the tow lot, in the cold. :) Make good choices!
