That’s a wrap of our 2025-2026 year for the FFA! Yesterday on Sunday May 3rd, we held our Banquet. A yearly tradition of ours, dedicated to gathering for celebration of the year with FFA over dinner and on stage! Numerous accomplishments from the students and proud partners who graciously support our FFA program were acknowledged. Thank you to the large group who came out to enjoy this night with us!

A huge shoutout goes to Kerry Gonyea, who went above and beyond at attending events and always being willing to lend a helping hand throughout the year! We were proud to present her this year’s Honorary Degree.

2025-2026 was a year for the Alcona FFA to be proud of, thank you to the alumni, students, staff, and parents who made it possible. We are incredibly proud of every one of you! Additionally we can’t wait to see what the next year entails for the students, and new officers!

The Alcona FFA had a Blast at the April Monthly Meeting, which was s***t shooting at Lost Lake Woods Club! The kids split off into two groups, advanced, and beginners, to be taught new skills by Mr. Connor Hubbard and Mr. Sherm Hubbard. This monthly meeting hit the target of being enjoyable and informative! After being out in the cold, students warmed up inside with hot tacos. We would like to give a special thank you to Lost Lake Woods for allowing us to have our monthly meeting there!

We can’t emphasize enough how great the 17th annual Maple Syrup Celebration day went! We had 879 members of our community come out, and our thanks go out to you. Your generosity, and contributions are what makes this project possible, we are honored to have the amazing visitors and supporters we do! Including Michigan FFA State officers, thank you all for coming out and touring our facility. At our event we sold lot’s of maple syrup, and maple sugar, but that’s not all! We also offered a free pancake and sausage breakfast, offered tours of the Sugar Shack, and had a sheep pen available for viewing.

It’s that time of year, maple syrup season!!! Students have been working hard to collect tons of sap from Maple trees off the school’s property. Yesterday, March 26, was our first sap boil of the season. The results were lots of delicious bottles of real maple syrup. It’s been a great start to the season! Great job to our students and volunteers for their hard work! Remember to come see us on Saturday, April 11th for our Maple Syrup Celebration Day!

Wow, the Alcona FFA is absolutely thrilled with their week at the Michigan FFA 98th annual State Convention! We received one of the most spectacular honors which was our very own student, Emma Schroeder being elected as the 2026-2027 State FFA Vice President! Emma your Accolades continue to astound us, we are very proud and excited for you to lead Michigan into another spectacular year for the FFA. You are bound to accomplish big things, so we can’t wait to watch you write this huge new chapter of your story. Along with influencing the beginning of a new chapter for many others.

At State convention many of our students were awarded for their achievements during their time in FFA!

First off we had our outstanding Juniors, who dedicated their time to participation in events, community service, and their own SAE projects to meet requirements to be specifically accepted for the degree! Congratulations Bailey Dellar, Wyatt Alderman, Sierra Wright, and Jade Shurmur!

Then, our State Degree Recipients. These students are a huge inspiration, from their hard work and continued commitment to FFA! To receive your FFA State degree you have to have been enrolled in FFA classes for at least 2 years, received a chapter degree, and have been involved in a required amount of community service and over five events above the chapter level! Congratulations Gunnar Levline, Ben Johnston, Darren Boyat, Daniel June, Matt Abee, Emily Geddert, Ella Gehring, Nyhia Jackson, and Emma Schroeder!

Emma Schroeder also earned her Academic Excellence award, which requires strong leadership and over a 3.5 GPA to earn! Amazing work Emma!

Multiple of our students also received proficiency awards for their exemplary work on an SAE! Great job, Emma Schroeder, Ella Gehring, Nyhia Jackson, Hailey Glick, and Daniel June!

We also had students compete at the State level in Leadership Development Events! Congratulations to our Parliamentary Prodcedure Team who placed 9th earning silver, and the Greenhand Conduct of Meetings Team placing 12th earning Bronze!
