As a medication aide and personal care assistant at Hillcrest Country Estates Grand Lodge in Papillion, Samantha spends her days caring for seniors. Now, she has a reliable way to get to work without having to depend on someone else for a ride.

This summer, University of Nebraska-Lincoln student Erica Vollbrecht completed her gerontology certificate practicum with NHCA.

Erica supported the Nebraska Health Careers Pipeline Initiative by engaging member nursing homes and assisted living communities with the Health Care Heroes League curriculum, which inspires students as young as third grade to explore future careers in long-term care.
