We are excited to share that St. Monica's has officially broken ground on the next building at Victory Park!

This milestone represents more than just construction. It is another step forward in creating spaces where women can heal, grow, and build a strong foundation for lasting recovery.

We are grateful to once again partner with BIC Construction, whose support of St. Monica's has extended far beyond this project. Their commitment to our mission and the women we serve has made them a valued partner throughout our journey.

We are also thrilled to be working with Architectural Design Associates (ADA) as the architect for this project. Their expertise and vision are helping bring this exciting addition to life.

As we celebrate this groundbreaking, we are also proud to be wrapping up this phase of our capital campaign. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and community partners, we continue to turn big dreams into reality.

While this is an important milestone, it is not the finish line. We have big dreams for the future of St. Monica's, and we are excited to continue building opportunities, expanding services, and creating hope for the women and families we serve.

The future is taking shape at Victory Park, and we cannot wait to share what comes next.

A special thank you to Jen Bossard for facilitating the process and guiding us through meaningful activities that helped shape our vision and priorities for the future.

🍩 Happy National Donut Day! 🍩

In honor of one of the sweetest days of the year, we decided to conduct a very scientific poll among St. Monica’s participants about their favorite donut flavors.

The results are in:

🍫 Chocolate Frosted: 34%
🍓 Filled Donuts: 22%
🌈 Glazed Donuts: 32%
🍁 Longjohns: 12%

While donut preferences may vary, one thing remains the same: there is something special about gathering together, sharing a treat, and enjoying a little joy in the middle of the day.

At St. Monica’s, recovery is about more than healing. It is about building connections, creating community, and celebrating the small moments that make life meaningful.

Now it's your turn. What is your favorite donut flavor? Let us know in the comments! 🍩❤️

In 1976, St. Monica's became a registered 501(c)(3), marking an important chapter in our history. At that time, our founders recognized a need for a more structured approach to addressing substance use disorder and adopted the Therapeutic Community model, a framework that continues to shape our work today.

The Therapeutic Community model is built on the understanding that recovery happens through connection and community. Participants learn from one another, support each other through challenges, and develop the skills, habits, and relationships that foster long term recovery. The community itself becomes an essential part of the healing process, creating opportunities for growth, accountability, and positive change.

Fifty years later, many aspects of treatment have evolved, but our belief in the power of community remains unchanged. We are proud to continue building on this foundation as we walk alongside women on their recovery journeys and help create pathways to hope, healing, and lasting recovery.

Please join us in congratulating our May Mentor of the Month, Stephanie Sellmeyer.

Stephanie consistently goes above and beyond for St. Monica’s and the women we serve. She willingly steps in to cover 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts at the last minute and does so with compassion and dedication. She has a natural ability to establish rapport with participants and interact with them in meaningful and supportive ways.

Stephanie also demonstrates excellent de escalation skills when supporting our STR participants through difficult emotional moments. She is eager to continue learning, asks thoughtful questions, and is always looking for ways to grow in her role.

Over the many years she has served at St. Monica’s, Stephanie has continually demonstrated her love and commitment to our mission and the women we serve. We are grateful for all that she does.

Congratulations, Stephanie, and thank you for making such a difference.

To our incredible Lincoln community, you showed up for us in a big way.

Because of your generosity during Give to Lincoln Day, St. Monica’s not only met both of our goals, we surpassed them. We are deeply grateful to the Lincoln Community Foundation, the City of Lincoln, and every donor, supporter, and person who liked, shared, commented, encouraged, and helped spread our mission.

This week was filled with excitement, energy, hope, and a powerful reminder of how strong community can be.

Now we are going to give your social media feeds, and ours, a small breather after such a busy and meaningful week. While the posts may slow down for a moment, the work does not. Every day, women walk through our doors seeking hope, healing, recovery, and a new path forward. That mission continues long after the campaign ends.

Thank you for believing in the work. Thank you for believing in the women we serve. Thank you for helping us continue changing lives.

Today is officially Give to Lincoln Day, and there is still time to make a life-changing impact for the women and families served by St. Monica's Behavioral Health Services.

At St. Monica’s, we walk alongside women on their recovery journey by providing a safe place filled with hope, healing, and support. Every day, lives are being changed through person-centered, trauma-informed care that reminds women they are worthy of recovery.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has already donated and supported our mission during Give to Lincoln Day. Your generosity is helping women find stability, healing, and a future full of possibility. 💜

There is still time to give. Donations made today will still receive matching funds, which means your impact can go even farther in helping save lives and strengthen families.

Thank you for believing in recovery. Thank you for believing in the women we serve.
