What percentage of your employees do you think are currently carrying a significant personal burden? The reality is: nearly everyone.

At our July LincolnHR program yesterday, Dr. Susan Meyerle, LIPC joined us to tackle a vital topic for modern HR leaders: navigating chronic stress, burnout, and the "invisible struggles" our people carry every single day.

Key takeaways from the session:
- Connection Before Correction: When patterns shift, reach out and give employees space to truly talk before jumping to performance management.
- Support, Don't Solve: Our task isn't to solve the personal crisis. Our role is to listen actively and connect them with vital resources, like an EAP.
- Compassion Without Carrying the Load: As HR professionals, we have to protect our own peace and practice empathy without taking on the weight of the burden.
- Coach Your Leaders: We must actively guide managers on how to build psychological safety through active listening, transparency, and confidentiality.

When employees feel genuinely supported and cared for during life's hardest chapters, they stay with your organization.

Thank you to Dr. Susan Meyerle for sharing these actionable strategies with us, and thank you to everyone who attended!

As a reminder we don't have an August program due to the NE State Conference, but we hope to see you at our next Coffee & Connection meetup on August 20th at Harbor Coffeehouse and in September for our next program! Stay tuned for more details.

Wow, what a fantastic turnout at our Coffee & Connection meetup yesterday morning at The Mill @ Innovation Campus!

We were thrilled to welcome several new faces and non-members who dropped in to check out our community and see what LincolnHR is all about.

The energy was incredible—we shared some great conversations, forged new professional connections, and even did what our community does best: rallied together to help a peer talk through a current workplace challenge they are dealing with. That is the exact kind of collaborative, low-pressure support we love to see.

A huge thank you to everyone who woke up early and joined us!

If you missed this one, don't worry. Mark your calendars as we’d love to have you at our next meetup taking place on Thursday, August 20th at Harbor Coffeehouse - 1400 Pioneers Blvd. Keep an eye on our page for more information closer to the event!

Many employees are showing up and performing beautifully every day while silently carrying unseen burdens—from grief and burnout to caregiving strain and mental health concerns.

As HR professionals, we are uniquely positioned to build psychologically safe workplaces, but navigating these sensitive situations without stepping into the role of a counselor can be a difficult tightrope to walk.

Who should attend? This program is specifically designed for HR Professionals, People Leaders, or anyone who wants to master the balance between deep empathy and clear organizational boundaries.

Join us in July to learn practical, actionable communication strategies to identify distress, respond with support, and protect employee dignity—all while upholding organizational expectations.
