Congratulations to our Blue Valley Community Action for receiving the 2026 Gold WIC award!

Recognition is due for our INCREDIBLE team at Blue Valley Community Action WIC!
Our WIC program was honored this year with the Gold – WIC Breastfeeding Award of Excellence for 2026. This is the first time BVCA WIC has earned this designation and it is representative of the great work our team is doing.
From the notice of the award, “The award recognizes local WIC agencies that have provided exemplary breastfeeding promotion and support activities. The intent is to provide models and inspire other local agencies to strengthen their breastfeeding promotion and support activities and ultimately increase breastfeeding initiation and duration rates among WIC participants.”
BVCA Health Department Director Danielle Meade said, “Our team is doing an amazing job promoting and encouraging breastfeeding for our participants. They should all be extremely proud of themselves, I know I am.”
We also want to recognize the other two Nebraska Gold awardees, both Community Action Agencies. Congratulations to Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska and Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska!

Did you know that the population aged 65+ is the fastest growing in the state of Nebraska?

Last year, nearly 30% of those served by Nebraska's Community Action agencies were retired. Demand for the services provided by our network -- whether related to housing, social connection, food, or other basic human needs -- will continue to increase as this population continues to grow.

Join Community Action Partnership of Lancaster and Saunders Counties for a groundbreaking event on August 17!

Every night, our guests gather to break bread. Now, we’re getting ready to break ground.

As construction begins on our new facility at 919 S. 12th Street, just a few blocks west of our current home, we're getting ready to host a ground breaking on August 17 at 10:30 AM.

This is the first step toward a larger, more welcoming space where we can serve more guests and better meet the rising need across Lincoln.

Food insecurity is real. Our network addresses hunger in Nebraska through direct services (meals, food distribution, grocery vouchers), SNAP outreach and education, participation on local coalitions, and more. This was our impact last month alone.

Food is foundational to stability and well-being. If you need assistance, connect with one of our nine agencies to learn more about our offerings. Our agencies serve all 93 counties!

Last week, Blue Valley Community Action Partnership - BVCA participated in several Can Care A Van events in their service area. Between the communities of York, Crete, Geneva, David City, and Seward, 23,507 pounds of food was donated!

One thing about Nebraskans is that we SHOW UP for our neighbors 🫶🏻 Thank you to all who donated to the important cause of addressing food insecurity, which impacts over 287,000 Nebraskans. And thank you to 10/11 News for lifting up this cause!
