💙 April is Child Abuse Prevention Month 💙

Prevention starts with awareness, education, and a community that is willing to learn how to better support children and families.

This April, BraveBe and Brave fACEs are offering a series of trainings designed to help our community better understand child protection, trauma, and resilience. Whether you're a parent, educator, coach, healthcare provider, or community member, these sessions offer practical tools and insight that help create safer environments for kids.

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has officially launched its updated Mandatory Reporter Training—now available online for professionals who work with children and families.

This new training introduces the WE CARE framework, a thoughtful approach to recognizing and responding to possible abuse or neglect:

✔️ W – Watch for Well-being
✔️ E – Engage with Empathy and Curiosity
✔️ C – Consider the Context and Assumptions
✔️ A – Assess for Danger and Impact
✔️ R – Reflect on your Responsibility to Report
✔️ E – Empower with Support

The interactive training covers Nebraska statutes, policies, and real-life scenarios to help professionals confidently respond when concerns arise. It takes about 2 hours to complete and includes a certificate of completion.
