Last night was powerful. đź’›
Our largest Nehemiah Action yet(!) brought together a packed room of people from across the community, each one showing up because they care about justice and what’s possible when we work together. That kind of turnout doesn’t happen by accident. It reflects months of organizing, relationship-building, and shared commitment.
We loved hearing the very first Justice in Action choir, voices from across our faith communities coming together in a way that felt both joyful and deeply rooted in purpose.
Like any gathering centered on real issues and real lives, there were moments of tension. That’s part of what it means to engage in high-stakes conversations. But what matters most is why we gather: to push for accountability, and real opportunities for people in our community, especially those navigating mental health challenges, addiction, and food insecurity.
We left with energy, focus, and a renewed commitment to the people at the heart of this work, neighbors like Steven, whose story reminds us what’s possible when diversion programs are accessible and supported.
We are grateful for every leader, volunteer, and congregation who made this night happen.
The work continues.
