"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter."

We work to honor Dr. King's legacy by speaking out against violence, empowering survivors, and working to create a more equitable Nebraska for everyone.

🔸 Staff Highlight 🔸

Mar Lee (they/them)
Youth Engagement Coordinator

🔸 Mar Lee works with our network programs and partners, helping them to better engage and connect with teens and young adults, empowering them to be advocates for change.

🔸 Mar Lee worked with Nebraska Coalition in the past while doing on-campus organizing to advocate for survivors of sexual violence at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

🔸 My interest in violence prevention is a personal one; I’m a survivor of sexual violence and intimate partner violence. I believe the culture surrounding how we talk about violence prevention is changing and I want to be a part of that change.

🔸 Empowering and educating young people about healthy relationships helps them recognize violence earlier on in their lives, and gives them the tools to communicate, set boundaries, and advocate for themselves in those situations.
