September 30, 2026 is Orange Shirt Day, also known as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada. Orange Shirt Day is inspired by Phyllis Webstad, a residential school survivor, who had her new orange shirt gifted by her grandmother taken away from her on her first day of boarding school. We wear orange today to honor survivors, raise awareness, promote healing, and affirm that Every. Child Matters.
