Board Member Spotlight: Amber Rucker 🍓

There are people who say they care, and then there are people like Amber who show it every single day.

Amber brings an incredible blend of skills to our board that most organizations could only dream of. With a background spanning corporate communications, public relations, finance, and grant writing, she has dedicated her career to serving both private and government organizations, and she brings every bit of that expertise to We Can Do This. By day she is the Marketing and Finance Manager at the Nebraska Ethanol Board, a role she has held for nearly a decade right here in Lincoln.

But what makes Amber truly special is not just what she knows. It is how she shows up. She has a gift for articulating what we do and why we do it in a way that moves people. Her kind heart and her dedication to helping us grow speaks volumes, and even with a full plate she always makes time for the kids who need us most.

Amber, we are so grateful for you and everything you bring to this mission. You are the best. ❤️

We are back in the swing of things at school, but we haven’t stopped swinging our clubs at the golf course!

A special thank you to Jack's Bar for choosing We Can Do This as their non-profit as their beneficiary to their annual golf tournament!

They are officially sold out of teams, but this is a great way to sponsor part of the golf tournament or silent auction and pay it forward to us!

Spreetail we can’t thank you enough for you generous donation of “name brand” backpacks. Getting something new and trendy is a special gift for the kids we serve at We Can Do This.

Quote from a grandparent of one of the kids we serve:
“Just want you to know you are the best. On the way home [name] said “I guess I’m kind of excited for school to start now.” She feels confident. I’m sure the other kids that get their name brand backpacks feel the same. So THANK YOU FROM ALL OF US. I feel relieved & happy for [name]. And the rest of the kids.”
