We’re still smiling from everything that unfolded at last Saturday’s Solidarity Night at the .

A huge thank you to everyone who showed up, shared a meal, joined the conversation, and helped create such a powerful evening of connection and community.

Thank you to our board members , , , , and Serena for your leadership, perspective, and commitment to this work. Your guidance continues to shape what Summits in Solidarity can be.

Thank you to our staff member .willhike and every volunteer who helped behind the scenes. Your time, energy, and care made the evening possible.

And to the many supporters, donors, participants, and friends who joined us: thank you for believing in this community and helping us move this mission forward.

Sharing food, stories, ideas, and experiences reminds us why we do this work. Building community, learning from one another, celebrating progress, and continuing to push toward a more just and equitable outdoors is at the heart of everything we do.

We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who has been part of this journey.

As we look ahead, we’re still working toward our NEW fundraising goal of $60,000 for Khmer Maine and Intrepid Academy.

We did it!!! 💞 You helped us complete our donation match, raising $6,000 in 48 hours for and Intrepid Academy .1918.

Since we did so well, one of the match donors threw in an additional $500. The total fundraiser amount is now $54,000! 🎉 All $ in excess of our original 50k goal will be split evenly between our 2026 BIPOC-led partner orgs.

Donations will still be accepted thru June 30th.

We just want to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who showed up, hiked, walked, logged miles, carried the bandana, cheered each other on, and helped make this past Saturday’s 606 Hiking Challenge such a meaningful day.

1,226 collective miles. More than $14,000 raised in a single day.

Every mile mattered. Every person who took part helped transform a simple idea into a powerful act of community, solidarity, and collective movement.

We’re deeply grateful to everyone who helped bring us closer to our fundraising goal and reminded us what this effort is really about: showing up together.

If you are in Crawford Notch at 2 pm on 6/06, stop by our gathering at the depot and get treated to a special Cambodian dance performance by Khmer Maine!
is a nonpartisan, community organization working to improve the quality of life and social and economic well-being of Cambodians in Maine through cultural exchange, community building, and civic engagement.

Their work includes preserving and passing on Cambodian cultural traditions, including Khmer dance, music, food, and art, while building solidarity with Black, Indigenous, Southeast Asian, Pacific Islander, and immigrant communities across Maine.

As part of our 606 mile hiking challenge, Khmer Maine will offer a special cultural performance at 2:00 PM at the Crawford Notch Train Depot, with an additional performance later that evening during Solidarity Night at The Notch Hostel.

The performance will open with Boung Soung, a traditional invocation ceremony honoring ancestors and spiritual guardians. Through symbolic offerings and prayers, the ceremony invites blessings, establishes a respectful atmosphere, and sets the tone for a culturally rich experience.

The program will also include the Pestle Dance, or Robam Angre, a vibrant Cambodian folk dance that reflects rural life, rice cultivation, cooperation, and community spirit. Through rhythmic coordination with wooden pestles, the dancers bring energy, movement, and cultural storytelling to the stage.

Audiences will also experience the Blessing Dance, or Robam Choun Por, rooted in classical Cambodian tradition. With graceful movements and intricate hand gestures, the dancers offer wishes of health, prosperity, protection, and well-being.

We’re deeply grateful to Khmer Maine for joining us on 6/06 and helping make this event not only a day of movement and fundraising, but also a day of culture, connection, and solidarity.

Join us at 2:00 PM at the Crawford Notch Train Depot, and again that evening at Solidarity Night at The Notch Hostel beginning at 7 pm (the potluck starts at 5.).

What your money is going to:

Every year, our hike-a-thon raises $50,000 to support local racial justice and outdoor access work led for and by communities of color. One of the organizations we are supporting this year is the Intrepid Academy at Hale, featured in the photos above.

Rooted in nature, joy, and community, Intrepid Academy at Hale is helping break down historic and systemic barriers to outdoor spaces, outdoor leadership, and wellness-focused education.

Located at Hale Education in Westwood, MA, IAH creates opportunities for students from Greater Boston-area cities to experience liberatory outdoor learning across 1,100 acres of forested woodlands, ponds, challenge courses, trails, boats, bikes, and four-season programming.

Through community-building, wellness, and outdoor leadership, students develop technical skills, build relationships, explore their identities, and grow as leaders. With access to gear, food, transportation, and culturally responsive curriculum, IAH removes many of the barriers that have kept BIPOC students from fully accessing outdoor spaces.

We’re proud to support a program helping young people thrive academically, personally, professionally, and collectively toward futures rooted in justice, wellness, and interdependence.
