Our final full day of the Restoration Retreat was one to remember!
The day began with an engaging session with dr.treehugger on environmental justice and climate change, where the young ladies explored the importance of protecting our communities and our planet. Through a hands-on science experiment, they witnessed how invisible impurities can impact our environment, sparking meaningful conversations about the world around them. They also designed advocacy posters highlighting environmental issues they are passionate about, learning that their voices have the power to inspire change.
Next, they dove into social justice with Jeanine Abrams McLean discovering how everyday people can become advocates for positive change within their communities. It was an empowering reminder that leadership begins with compassion, courage, and taking action.
To end the day, we visited the charming mountain town of Nederland, where the girls explored local shops, picked up souvenirs, and created memories that will last a lifetime.
As our retreat comes to a close, one thing is certain: these young women are leaving with new knowledge, stronger friendships, greater confidence, and the belief that they have the power to make a difference in the world.
