Update 6/10/26

Maine Game Wardens have made an arrest in connection to this incident. A Waterboro man was charged with aggravated assault (Class B), reckless operation of ATV (Class D), and failing to stop and identify for landowner (Class E).

The arrest was the result of video and trail camera footage as well as multiple tips reported to the Maine Warden Service that assisted with investigation leading to a search warrant.

We are thankful for the support shown by the public in this case, an incident which threatened the well-being of a Maine landowner, future access to private land, and the reputation of Maine’s ATV community.

A ride without respect isn’t worth the cost.

Maine Warden Service is looking for information regarding the owner and operator of a side by side ATV that struck and dragged a landowner who had stopped the ATV on his property.
Last night at approximately 8:30 p.m. on the Pequawket Lake Road in Limington, a landowner watched a side by side ATV ride through their property at a high rate of speed. When the ATV returned a few minutes later, the landowner was able to stop the ATV, and told him he needed to slow down. When the landowner attempted to photograph the ATV and the registration, the operator rapidly accelerated, striking the landowner and dragging him 75 feet before he got away. The landowner was treated at the hospital for abrasions and contusions and was released last night.
The ATV is a one bench side by side that seats two people and is gray and black in color with a prominent brush guard on the front of the ATV. The ATV was driven by a male operator in an orange shirt, with a female passenger who had dark hair.
Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Regional Communications Center dispatch in Augusta at 207-624-7076 ext. 9 or contact MaineOperation Game Thief at 1-800-ALERT-US or maineogt.org if they wish to remain anonymous.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms out there.

Sled's in the shed. ATV is itching to growl. But here's the dirt about mud season...

No ride is worth losing a landowner's trust.

Spinning wheels on soggy soil don't just make a mess- they cause permanent ruts in trails and the future of ATV riding in Maine. One irresponsible mud run could end access to a trail for good. Practice patience so all riders can hit the dirt this summer and for years to come.

Landowners and clubs who maintain trails have the final say on opening dates. Stay tuned for their official green light to ride by May or early June.

Happy Saturday to all. Need to touch base on a couple of items.

First, if you are a resident of Limington and are completing your senior year at Bonny Eagle high school or home schooling, the club will once again be offering the Stanley “Pubby” Blake Memorial Scholarship to a deserving senior. Please stop by the guidance office for more information.

Now the next notice is that our trails will be closed for the season after this weekend. Our surrounding towns are closing theirs down as well so enjoy them the last weekend of the year.

I hope everyone had a good time riding our trails and I thank each and every one of you for doing so. Let’s hope next year will be even better.
