September is sign up for a library card month. If you don't already have a card, just stop in with your current license and we can help you get a Davis Memorial Library card any time. It is also possible to get a Portland Public Library here at our library.

Our summer reading program has ended. We had 61 total readers with 25 children and 36 adult participants. Thanks to an anonymous donor, we were able to give Sherman's gift cards to participants who read the most books and/or filled out more bingos for first, second and third place winners. Also, September 12th is the last day that you can pick up your prizes.

DON'T FORGET that we will be holding our annual book sale on Saturday, September 12th, (rain date September 19th) from 9-noon. As always we will have a large variety of adult fiction books, adult non-fiction books and children's books, Prices are $1 per book, $10 per bag and $5 per bag of children's book. The Friends of the Davis Memorial Library will also be holding a bake sale. There will also be a young lady selling her photography at the book sale. Please welcome Amanda Drouin

CMP will be coming on Saturday, September 19th, at 10:30-11:30, for an electricity event aimed towards our younger patrons. This will teach our younger patrons and maybe older patrons too, how to be safe around electricity.

Sign ups have started now for our October pumpkin carving event so make sure you sign up by October 1st.

Just a reminder that Davis Memorial Library is closing the Summer Reading Program today. Please get your information in to us by 8:00 pm tonight and we will count everything up tomorrow morning and notify winners!

Hey everyone! We didn't have a very big turnout for the end of summer reading program on Saturday so we are extending the turn in time of your bingos and lists until Monday, August 24, at 8:00 pm. We will tally up the winners on Tuesday and post them on here, on the website and in the library. We will inform the winners directly.

SAVE THE DATE---Davis Memorial Library will be holding our annual book sale on Saturday, September 12th (rain date 19th), from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon. As always, we have a large variety of adult fiction books, adult non-fiction books and children's books. Prices are $1 per book, $10 per bag and $5 per bag of children's books. See you there!

Don't forget that this Saturday, August 22nd, from 10:00-1:00 is the end of the summer reading program at Davis Memorial Library. Bring in your paperwork and we will be tallying everyone's sheets up and finding our winners.
Also our local children's author, Gail DiBiase, will be visiting with us and telling us about her books and how she creates them.
If you are unable to make it Saturday, please return your tally sheets before because we will be choosing winners by 12:45 pm so that we can give away prizes.

Don't forget that tomorrow is Firefighter Day at the library. Beginning at 10:30 there will be firefighters here from the Limington Fire Department teaching everyone about the importance of fire safety. Come in and meet a firefighter or two and learn what they have to wear when they go into any fire.
If you are doing the summer reading program you will get an extra sticker for coming to this event.

Don't forget that Davis Memorial Library still has discount passes to the Maine Wildlife Park. Just pick up your passes at the library and you get $5 admission to the park.
