Say hello to Brynn, a graduate of Shawnee High School! ☀️

Brynn is headed to Bowling Green State University this fall to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education. Helping make that goal possible is the Monica Lynette Berger Teacher Education Scholarship, awarded through the Lima Community Foundation.

Created in memory of a beloved teacher who passed away at only 28, this scholarship celebrates her legacy by supporting graduating seniors from Lima Senior High School (her alma mater) and Shawnee High School (where she taught) as they pursue careers in education. 💙

So proud of you, Brynn! The future of education is in great hands.

Today we celebrate the birthday of John W. MacDonell, the man who helped shape the Lima Community Foundation into what it is today. As our volunteer President, John grew LCF to more than $8 million in assets alongside Executive Director Susie Gray. He believed in connecting people who care with causes that matter, and his legacy lives on in every grant, every scholarship and every donor we serve. Happy Birthday, John. 💙

Meet Avah, a Lima Senior High School graduate heading to The Ohio State University this fall to study Primary Education!

Avah was awarded five scholarships through the Lima Community Foundation, including the Lima Senior Alumni Scholarship, Marcene Alice Cook Scholarship, Monica Lynnette Berger Teacher Education Scholarship, James M. and Ruth E. McBride Scholarship, and the Lima City Schools- Teachers Scholarship.
