Troop 946 takes Summit Bechtel Reserve! What an amazing opportunity we have had for summer camp. Silly fun, merit badges, swim, merit badges, volleyball, mb's, big zip, white water, climbing, more mb's, branding, Gatorade on tap, cold showers, flushing toilets, more mb's. What a blast & thank you so much to ALL OUR ADULT VOLUNTEERS who took the week to drive us all the way to West Virginia & these country roads...

"In 'Scouting for Boys', Baden-Powell referred to the Knights of the Round Table in the Arthurian Legend, and to St George who was their Patron Saint.

He then went on: 'He is also the Patron Saint of Scouts everywhere. Therefore all Scouts should know his story. St George was typical of what a Scout should be.

'When he was faced by a difficulty or danger, however great it appeared, even in the shape of a dragon - he did not avoid it or fear it but went at it with all the power he could... That is exactly the way a Scout should face a difficulty or danger no matter how great or how terrifying it may appear. They should go at it boldly and confidently, using every power that they can to try and overcome it, and the probability is that they will succeed.
'St George's Day is April 23, and on that day, Scouts remind themselves of their Promise and Scout Law. Not that a Scout ever forgets either but, on St George's Day, they make a special point of thinking about them. Congratulations to the “Angry Moms” patrol for achieving first place in a snow-free Winterall. Appreciation expended to friends of 946 Colleen and Phil for chairing the event and other 46/946 leaders and parents helping out. And congratulations to both troops for a good showing this weekend.

For members of the Troop who will be eighteen by July of 2025 - a special Scouting adventure awaits you. Troop 46/946 committee member Ken King is the leader for this adventure, which will draw participants from across the USA - and around the world.

The 16th World Scout Moot will be take place in Portugal in the summer of 2025.

We expect to open the registration system in March.

So, we invited everyone to attend our 'new to us' trailer fundraiser @ the Elburn Lions car show. We had a lot of support. A special thanks to Elburn Lions, Troop 46 (the leaders & scout TURNED OUT! To really make this happen!, help working the crowd, setting up, prizes, cars to race, etc) the packs who lent cars (150, 35, 260 to name a few)) We all had so much fun & ended up coming only $150 short of what we thought was a lofty goal! How amazing is this community in their support of our girls. I will never be able to thank everyone enough for the support of these girls. WE ARE GETTING A BIGGER TRAILER!!!! YAY!!!
